Hallo ! I am Sian Tjan from Jakarta Indonesia. Since years my husband and me have been regular guests at Hotel Fita located in the centre of Amsterdam , Jan Luyken Straat, just across the van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and a few steps away from Leidse Plein and the Vondelpark. The public transportation is around the corner. This is a very nice family hotel, with a very good breakfast., internet facilities and people are treated as friends. We really feel like home away from home. We can warmly recommend you this nice small hotel in a typical old Dutch building with personal touch .

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Fita for one night on a weekend trip to Amsterdam to see "Boom Chicago". I had read some favorable reviews online and found that the hotel was very close to the Leidseplein where the theatre is located.

The young woman who checked us in was friendly and cheerful. She immediately announced that we were getting an upgrade to the largest (A) type room in the hotel. (It was probably because the hotel was not full, but we thought it was a very nice gesture!) After we settled in our room, she appeared with 2 glasses of champagne. A very nice start to our weekend in Amsterdam.

The room was very clean, nicely decorated, with a large spotless bathroom. When we returned to the hotel that night, our room key card opened the front door to the lobby.

Breakfast was quite nice, but not as elaborate and extensive as what had been described in other reviews. It was fine, though, again with pleasant service.

I have already recommended the Hotel Fita to a friend, and we will definitely return the next time we take trip to Amsterdam.

We stayed in a twin room at Fita Hotel in early september for 3 nights, after a few days in London, where we stayed in a chain hotel. We found this hotel very nice for many reasons. First, the location. We enjoyed walking to Leidsplein every day either to eat, sightseeing or shopping. Second, the room. The beds were very comfortable, and we had everything we needed in the room. There were tea making facilities and also a coffee machine. The bathroom was nice and perfectly clean. We had enough space for our big luggage, and the elevator was much of help.
The breakfast was nice as well, with plenty of sweet choices and great cheese (we loved dutch cheese!).
The wifi internet and printer were very helpful as we needed to check some things for the rest of our trip. Also the free phone calls, which we used to arrange some stuff we needed for the next part of our trip. Both internet access and phone calls were a problem in London, but they weren't here!. This things might be not important for a lot of people, but it were for us as we needed to keep in touch with our family and arrange tickets and accomodation for the rest of our trip.
The owners provided good information about the city and also gave a warm welcome. It was very convenient to buy tickets for the museum from them and avoid the HUGE line in Van Gogh Museum.

  • Liked — Room, facilities (internet, free laundry, ironing) and breakfast
  • Disliked — Stairs were too tight, but there was an elevator

Friendly staff, friendly owners. The breakfast was great in the morning, more varied and larger than many other options. I was running the Half-Marathon and found the location near enough to the Stadium to walk, but also near enough to the central sights to also walk downtown as well . . . . . so I did a lot of walking in addition to running the race. Nevertheless, some key tram lines also seemed to be within a few blocks, as were places like Concertbouw, Van Gogh and Leidesplein. Voendelpark is also within a few blocks. The room was as I pictured it, with a large, clean bathroom. The owners were willing to be accomodating when I said I might have to leave early for family reasons and then was able to stay. I appreciated the flexibility as I'd been in Africa and out of touch of some things, so was in a bit of a flux the first few days. Free international calls were an unexpected surprise and the internet access helped me stay in touch with my staff back in Canada. Pleasant stay all around and I appreciated the service and consideration.

This is the first time I have ever written a review for ANYTHING online so trust me when I say that you will be thoroughly impressed with your stay at Hotel Fita. I stumbled upon this hotel while searching for a comfortable, quaint and reasonably priced place to stay during my trip to Amsterdam. The hotel profile online fit the bill and my experience there confirmed all that I had hoped it would be. The rooms were immaculate, the staff were lovely and there were so many little things that made the stay so pleasant. They had free wireless, a printer and laundry service. All of these things are so appreciated, especially in the event you need to check something quickly online but don't want to pay several Euro in order to do so. The breakfast also was spectacular. I would have been perfectly pleased with a basic breakfast, but they always had a hot dish prepared, fresh breads, cheese, yogurt, cereal and of course juice and coffee to start the day off just right. There are dozens of other amenities that while straightforward were much appreciated during my stay. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a lovely place to stay that is within walking distance to so many local treasures and hot spots. I will never stay anywhere but here during my future visits to Amsterdam.
