This exceptionally clean, quiet and friendly hotel allows free phone calls and internet access. Very hot powerful showers and wonderful beds and linens. GREAT breakfast included with fresh squeezed OJ and fabulous coffee. Very friendly and helpful staff. Short walk to museums and great shopping. Short walk to tram that takes you anywhere in Amsterdam. This is a wonderful place in a grreat neighborhood.

We had a reservation to spend four nights at the Hotel Fita, but our flight from Istanbul was delayed, then canceled -- so I had to call at the last minute and tell the hotel we'd be arriving the next day and would be spending only three nights. Although they would have had every right, under their written policy, to charge us for the first night, they didn't -- which tells you all you need to know about the friendliness and hospitality of this delightful boutique hotel. We splurged for the largest room (165 Euros) and believe me it was worth it! After years of suffering postage stamp-sized hotel rooms in Europe, this was a real treat -- and being less than a block away from the Van Gogh Museum on a lovely, quiet, residential street was an added bonus. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Hotel Fita was very nice. We had two rooms for two nights. We felt that this hotel is a very good value. It is neat and clean and the location is great. We had been in our room only a couple of minutes, when we were greeted to a glass of bubbly and a bowl of cashews. What a nice touch!

The only thing that I missed was soap bars, because they have the liquid soap dispensers in both the shower and over the sink. But that certainly didn't upset me, since everything else was terrific. They had a nice flat screen TV in the room and it was nice to be able to watch the world news in English.

We learned that they would have done our laundry for FREE. We didn't need that service, but what a deal. They also offer free internet service and free long distance calls. They also include a very nice breakfast for free.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, except someone in a wheelchair. Their front steps into the hotel are very steep and there is no ramp available.

Try the Hotel Fita. I think you would be happy!

We stayed in Hotel Fita for 3 nights in mid-August. The hotel is small and family run. The guests are well cared for. Right from check-in to the day we left, we never felt away from home. The small touches such as the welcome Champagne, free laundry and free telephone calls (international) made us feel really welcome.
Hans was helpful with his travel tips. Breakfast was excellent with a good range and variety, and, comes with explanations of cheese from Hans ;)
Being vegetarians, we still had a contented meal.
Hotel staff were always smiling and very nice.
Everyone on the hotel knew English and we didn't have any communication problems.
If you stay here, you can also buy tickets for the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuesuem. This really saved us time as we saw very long queues at the museums.
It's just a block away from Van Gogh and a 5 minute walk to Rijksmuseum and tram stops.
It was well worth the price we paid.
We'll certainly look forward to staying here next time.

We arrived at the Hotel Fita at the end of our three week trip through France and Amsterdam. My husband, myself and my mother-in-law thought this was the most elegant hotel we had stayed in during our trip. Hans met us and showed us our rooms, where he left with us glasses of bubbly and a bowl of cashews. Our two rooms were on the same floor and we felt secure enough that during the times we were at the hotel, we could leave our doors open and walk down to my in-laws room to check on her. Our double room was very large, airy and immaculate. Our bathroom had amenities which we had never seen before in a hotel. PS. We loved the rubber duck! Our breakfasts were delicious and varied. And we appreciated the freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. We also appreciated the free computer next to the breakfast room to email our kids. Hotel Fita was located in a quiet, leafy neighbourhood. Very central to walk to the museums, restaurants and designer shops to admire the evening gowns. Unfortunately, my husband contracted a bug, and Hans brought him a tray of tea, honey and a lime. A very lovely gesture. Our time in Amsterdam was much to short. We would love to come back again to visit this beautiful city and country and we will definitely return to the Hotel Fita. Thank you Hans and Loes.
