A really nice experience. I was travelling with family and as it was our first time in Amsterdam it was nice to have a friendly welcome from the hotel. The service does make all the difference in this hotel, and did make a very enjoyable stay. The location is also great. It was very close to Vondelpark, Leidseplein and the museums. On the negative side the hotel itself and the rooms are fairly smally. There are no public areas (which can make waiting for a taxi in a small party wuite awkward) and no bar which would have been nice.

  • Liked — Friendly service & character
  • Disliked — No bar, small

We were quite pleased with our stay at Hotel Fita. The owners were organized and knowledgeable about the city, offering us museum discounts and offering advice about points of interest with directions and maps.
The rooms were clean, comfortable with the added bonus of free wireless and laundry done gratis...
Breakfast was adequate... overall a good location and well priced

The Hotel Fita makes you feel at home and Hans and staff like close relatives. For a reasonable price you get a room that is clean along with that snug as a bug comfort. Location is everything and the Hotel Fita is perfectly located with easy walking distance to museums, sights, shopping and fine restaurants. Easy access to transportion takes you to Central Station in minutes. We enjoyed our stay as Hotel Fita made it special.

I spent the last 2 nights at the Fita Hotel. It was a very warm and pleasant experience. The owner knew I was in Amsterdam to work, and that I worked at night and needed sleep in the mornings. He gave me a quiet room which was very comfortable, with a big new bathroom including a huge tub to soak in. I was able to rest very well at the Fita. I also appreciated the free phone calls to Europe and the US.The only thing was that I missed breakfast, which ended at 9 30( 10 at week-ends), but that's just a minor quibble in otherwise a thoroughly relaxing stay.

  • Liked — size of room and quality of welcome
  • Disliked — breakfast ended too early on week-days

We were 4 Aussie couples who were spending the last few days of a five week holiday in Amsterdam. We were delighted with our choice of Hotel Fita. On arrival the owner Hans greeted us with some peach cider and nibbles. A very nice touch. The hotel was in a quiet location, yet handy to trams & museums. Our romms were clean, and spacious with a large bathroom , an ironing board & iron, tea & coffee making facilities , writing desk, and two comfy chairs. Everything a traveller could want. Breakfasts were good, fresh orangeg juice, fruit, cereal, cheeses, toast, and cooked breakfast. Hans was only too happy to give advice on what to do and where to go and our group were very happy with his individual recommendations. Four of us had a late flight home and for an extra fee were were able to secure a room for a late check out. We were given fresh towells, making the prospect of our long haul home to Australia easier.
Only imporvementI could suggest: Australians do not like powdered milk in the tea. Fresh is best!
