My wife and I stayed here may 9-13, 2007. When I originally tried to book a room, they were sold out, but put me on a waiting list which opened up after approx 5 days. we stayed in room #4 on ground floor which consisted of a double bed, small sitting area with table and 2 chairs, spotless bathroom and lovely view into the garden/courtyard.

Gunter and Erik were extremeley helpful in booking restaurant reserverations, sightseeing etc. We ate at Jamie Oliver's 15 which was fantastic. It is located a little out of the way on the river in a new area of amsterdam. Great service, super atmosphere and exceptional food!!!

The location of the hotel was fairly central. We thought about getting the Iamsterdam card or a 3 day tram pass, but decided against it after the first day. We ended up walking most of the time and purchased a stripenkart to get us home when we didn't feel like walking.

Breakfast was included and was amazing! served to our room at a time previously arranged with Gunter. Plentiful, fresh and very tasty.

I would highly recommend this property. It is a boutique hotel and each room has character and appeal.

Would stay here again without hesitation. Many thanks to Gunter and Erik for an excellent vacation.

We were extremely happy with this hotel. The owners kindly let us check in very early as we had been flying all night and the room was vacant. The staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely, the rooms are delightful, the position is excellent, the price is very reasonable, what more could you want. Just be aware that the higher floors might be difficult for elderly and infirm.

First, some context: my husband and I travel quite a bit both domestically and abroad, and stay in mid-range (Hilton and Marriott) to top of the line (Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons) hotels, as well as high-end country inns and B&B’s. Now for the review. We just loved the Seven Bridges! We loved the accommodation, the location, and the hosts. 1) Accommodation: We stayed in the Garden Suite. We have stayed in many interesting places but this was quite unique. The antiques used to decorate the room were of very high-quality and the room proportions were impressive as well. The high ceilings, fireplace, huge windows, fabulous fabrics, furnishings, and artwork were a real delight. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept like logs. The bathroom was spotless, spacious, bright, and modern. A glass door in the bathroom opened onto a lovely terrace with potted camellias and other plants. We are both appreciative of good design and employ an interior designer for our own home, so we are fairly picky when it comes to these types of things. 2) Location: The location is, in our opinion, perfect. The upscale neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Yet, it is one block from the tram that provides a very quick trip to the city center station, one block to lovely neighborhood stores and restaurants, and it is, of course, in the heart of canal country. 3) Hosts: The owners of the hotel are two lovely men. We had the most contact with Gunter as he usually delivered our delicious breakfast. We just adored him. He was the kindest and most gracious host. He always seemed so cheerful and ready to offer advice. One thing that really impressed us was that, during our stay, someone from my office contacted the hotel, asking me to call. It turned out to be very sad news (someone I work with had passed away). It was evening and, sensing that something was wrong, Gunter rang our room and offered to bring up tea and cookies. When he arrived, he asked if everything was OK. It was obvious that he brought the refreshments to cheer us up which was just so sweet.

In summary, for many reasons, we just loved everything about this hotel. It is the perfect place to stay while in Amsterdam.

What a lovely to place to stay. It was so easy to book by phone having looked up the details on the internet and when we arrived we were made very welcome. Our room (the garden room, no.5) was beautifully furnished and had the bonus of a patio to sit ouside (although going through the bathroom to reach it seemed a little unusual to start with). Breakfast in the room was much nicer than going into a depersonalised dining room and was excellent, with croissants, a variety of bread (tasting deliciously homemade), cheese, meat, yoghurts and fruit. It was enough to keep us going with sandwiches for lunch too!
The hotel is not like a traditional hotel chain, being more like someone's home. But the service, friendliness and quality of our room and breakfast couldn't have been better.
The location is great too, as it is central to any of the museums and other attractions. We made the mistake of getting a taxi from the Central Station to the hotel - very expensive (20 euros) for a short distance. It's easily walkable, which we did going back, wheeling our suitcases. The hotel is also in one of the most attractive and peaceful areas of Amsterdam,
If we ever come stay in the city again, we will DEFINITELY come and stay here again.

I stayed here four nights at the end of April and had a great time. The location was awesome, very close to all the important sights. I was traveling solo, and felt totally safe and comfortable at the hotel. The owners were very friendly, and were eager to help with anything I needed. The breakfast was great and was a good start to everyday. There was also free wireless internet access which was very convenient and greatly appreciated. After my first day touring the city I came back to my room to find a beautiful bouquet of tulips and a box of chocolates. Overall I had a great time and really enjoyed my stay at the Seven Bridges.
