We spent 3 nights at the Seven Bridges Hotel (Room B) in December just before Christmas. The hotel is exactly what we expected judging from the hotel website. The furnishings in the room were lovely, we were not disturbed or bothered by any noise from the street or staff or folks in other rooms. It was quiet with a beautiful view of the canal. The drapes were beautiful and heavy and blocked out all sunlight so that sleeping was very enjoyable. We spent our days in Amsterdam sight seeing and walked for miles ;-) We enjoyed returning to the hotel in the evenings for the peace and tranquility before heading out again for dinner.
Room B does not include any food service (but does have facilities if you want to make your own tea/coffee etc in the room). Because there was no food service Gunter recommended a couple of nearby bakeries which we found and totally enjoyed...it actually enhanced our overall experience in Amsterdam.
The room was very well priced and was a nice size with a large dressing room and well decorated bathroom. We plan on returning to this hotel!!!
Happy Travels!

In October 2006, I took my children on a European holiday and chose the Seven Bridges Hotel, Amsterdam, for our last two nights. I am partial to antiques and wonderful soft furnishings, which is why I chose this hotel.Another attraction was the age of the place...300 years old! It more than satisfied my expectations. We were given room 5, a large, magnificently furnished room to share, with its own balcony overlooking a private garden at the rear of the hotel, away from the noise and bustle of the canals. We had our own marble ensuite and a flat screen TV, which the children loved. Each morning, the owners brought a breakfast tray to our room, full of delicious fresh food, served on fine china....what a way to be pampered! The room was tastefully decorated with fine antiques and rich fabrics, Persian carpets and interesting artworks. We were right next to the canal, so made use of the canal cruises and enjoyed ambling along the cobbled streets and looking at galleries and shops. At night, we found a few restaurants nearby and were close to major shops and bus routes on the Rembrandtplein. Amsterdam is a joy to explore and we all loved the relaxed feel of the place and the tolerance of the Dutch to different customs. The owners were most accommodating in storing our luggage and calling taxis or advising us where to go and I would definitely like to return to this hotel. We paid 550 euros for two nights, which included the breakfast and all taxes.

  • Liked — The luxurious decor, marble bathroom, TV, breakfast in room
  • Disliked — nothing
  • Tips/Secrets: — Book directly through hotel to avoid additional charges

From start to finish our experience at Seven Bridges Hotel was A1. We arrived early in the morning and was expecting to be told that our room would not be ready until later that afternoon to our suprise we was informed by Pierre that although it was only 9:30 in the morning, that our room would be ready by 10:00 where upon we procceded to the local cafe for some refreshments. Once we returned Pierre took us to our room (Room C) which was more like a mini appartment, showed us around and gave us the keys.

The room was equiped with cutlery, a fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a massive 32inch Tv. To be honest we spent most of the day in our room relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the cannel, and when we did venture out we came back to a lovely clean room, fresh towels and even our washing up had been done.

We throughly enjoyed our time in Amsterdam and at the Seven Bridges Hotel, and cant wait to return.

  • Liked — The location and freedom, not forgetting the great views.

My husband and I returned to the Seven Bridges for a 3 night stay from 12/13/06 - 12/16/06. Our prior stay was 24 years ago!!, but the only reason we had not returned before was that the only other time we came to Amsterdam we could not get a booking. I love the fact you can select the room from the pictures - and since we were familiar with the hotel (last time staying on the top floor), we cleverly booked the room on the main floor (as we had several suitcases for a 1 month trip). The management was extrememly attentative and helpful and it made our "return trip" just as wonderful as the first! The guest that did not like the stay probably wouldn't have been happy anywhere!

  • Liked — Location and ambience
  • Disliked — Nothning
  • Tips/Secrets: — Remember there are small steep stairs to all rooms except the "garden room".

My boyfriend and I stayed here between Christmas and New Year as a surprise birthday present for him and we loved it! The hotel is small and beautifully decorated in the unique style that the owners have put so much care and attention into. The breakfast is a real treat and is delivered to the room at whichever time you request. We stayed in room 6 which has excellent views of the canal, so our first evening was spent chilling out with the bottle of wine which was awaiting us in our room on arrival and watching the world go by along the canal.

The location is perfect as you can walk to all parts of the city from the hotel. Didn't see much of the staff but they were friendly and helpful when we did! Would recommend this place to anyone, especially as a romantic treat!

  • Liked — Character and location

  • Tips/Secrets: — Canal view rooms are fantastic - don't believe it about the noise, it's not a problem!
