“Unique Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2009

We checked in at 11am, which saved us a lot of hassle with bags. Friendly service. Delightful room (room 5- as nice as the pictures on the website, which isn't always the case with some hotels!).
Breakfast plentiful. Expensive, but then again isn't everwhere in Amsterdam?

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and at the Seven Bridges Hotel. We chose to stay in Room C. It is quiet, comfortable, attractively furnished and has a great view of the canal from the windows. After full days of sightseeing it was a welcoming haven to return to. Breakfast is not provided but the room has a fridge and facilities for making hot drinks. As a bakery is close by it is easy to purchase fresh croissants etc. Cutlery and crockery is provided.
The hotel is well positioned for sight seeing. We walked to most of the main museums. If intending to visit the Ann Frank house I would recommend booking on line. Doing so not only saves time but avoids the long queues. As we were keen to see as much as possible we bought 72 hour 'I amsterdam' cards and used them to the full.
Within short walking distance there are numerous restaurants so we had a good choice and ate well. Our only disappointment was our experience at the 'Tempo Doeloe' Indonesian restaurant. We booked a few days in advance but on arrival we were seated at a table for two which was immediately adjacent to the entrance door. The restaurant is popular and is always full. However as it is very narrow the tables are close together. Hence, throughout the meal the table was under constant "attack" from both waiter and customer traffic. Although the meal was good the dining experience was poor. This was our most expensive meal but for the reason given was the least enjoyable. If booking a table for two insist that you are not given the worst position in the house!

Seven Bridges is just as wonderful as 99 percent of the Trip Advisor reviews state. The hosts are friendly, ready to provide tourist help and advice at a moment's notice, and run an outstanding establishment. The croissants are still terrific, the coffee fit for coffee lovers, and the breakfast replete with fresh fruits and fine yougurt. The wireless internet service is fast and free, the bed comfortable, and the furnishings of museum quality. Equally valuable, the neighborhood is quiet, the canals beautiful to behold, and the nearby 16 and 24 trams run to and from the Central Rail Station and the Concertgebouw, a major plus for travellers and music lovers. The one negative review I found for this hotel is not to be taken seriously!

This small hotel, with windows onto the canals and charming canal houses, makes for a wonderful Amsterdam experience. Every detail, from the period furniture to the excellent breakfast delivered to your room on exquisite china, is lovingly overseen by the excellent staff. We have been coming to Amsterdam for many years and we always look foreword to our stay at the Seven Bridges.

We stayed at Seven Bridges in September as I have done in previous years. Wonderful owners and such an interesting hotel we loved the decor and care with every detail in the hotel.
This hotel has a charm thats stylish and cultured without pretension that represents the wonderful personality of Amsterdam.
Breakfast catering is the best I've experienced having travelled around Europe for many years and the owners spoke english and are very helpful.
THe room was wonderful and the location is perfect for visiting the Amsterdam.
Quite an unusual hotel because it has a personal yet professional atmosphere.
I would recommend totally :D

Our stay at Seven Bridges was everything we'd hoped for and more. Canal Room C, a wonderful second floor 2-room suite overlooking the picture-postcard Reguliersgracht canal, was furnished with a variety of antique pieces and provided an intimate, comfortable, peaceful and memorable experience. Walking distance to everything, steps to restaurants, cafes, and Rembrandtplein. Excellent, friendly service from my first email inquiry to checkout. If you're high-maintenance or looking for big hotel amenities and services this isn't your place, but if you want to experience Amsterdam more like a local than a tourist Seven Bridges is highly recommended. We hope to be back to Amsterdam one day, and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

This is an unfriendly rude place in great location. Slightly mental owner manager does not add to the charm. Better options in the area for the money. This place has seen better days I think. I was really miffed by the good ratings this hotel gets which makes me think something is a little fishy with the reviews. No matter, so many hotels in the area.

We are completely dumbfounded to hear this terrible news.
It is just inconceivable that we should have treated our guests this way.
