“Excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2009

We stayed in Room A, which was one floor below street level on the canal-side and was essentially a private apartment. We knew up front that no breakfast was included, which was fine for us since we aren't big breakfast people. The room was spacious, spotless and included a kitchenette. Furnishings were attractive and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of storage space. The bathroom was very nice, with a shower large enough for two people (no tub). The location was great - convenient to tram stops and within walking distance of many sights. The hotel is located in a scenic area with pretty canals, and is outside of the wild-ish central core. The only downside was street noise (late night revelers), although the hotel provided ear plugs. We got a great deal on the room price and the staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Free wi-fi included. We'd definitely stay here again.

This is one of the better B&B's I've stayed in to date. We stayed in Room 9, a room on the top floor with a view of the garden. It was very clean and cozy. The staff even gave us a quick tour of Room 10 (a canal view room) as it was vacant at the time. Both rooms were very nice, however if I stayed here again I would stick with the garden view room as I found it to be quiet at night. Breakfast was included in our rate and brought to our room at the time of our choice. The breakfast was very good, it was the same for all 3 mornings of our stay - fruit, yogurt, bread, croissants, meat and cheese. Aside from that, the staff were attentive and pleasant, and were prompt when I emailed them to book a room. If you book less than 2 weeks before your stay, be sure to ask about a last minute rate. One thing to note: they are not kidding when they say that the stairs are steep! Potential bonus for some: there is a coffeeshop next door to this B&B.

Please note:
Our guests mixed up Garden Room 10 - the room they stayed in - with Canal Side Room 9,the room opposite nr 10.
Regarding the "special bonus"... Our regular guests are no visitors of this peaceful and rather cultivated "coffee"-lounge in our neighbourhood ( which even serves real coffee!) - with the exception of some guests from North America now and then, whom this kind of cultural activity seems to have a certain attraction to... thanks to their challeging and exploring spirit.

I love this hotel. We stayed here 5 years ago and again in the same room on this trip, overlooking the canal. It was wonderful to see how they have lovingly maintained and improved the property - it was even nicer than the first time. The hotel is completely charming and atmospheric. It’s in a perfect location and it’s beautifully run. I’d hate to stay anywhere else in Amsterdam.

My husband and I took the train from Paris to Amsterdam, and after walking with our bags from Central Station about a mile through the winding streets of Amsterdam- I was ready to check in to a hotel- any hotel. But the walk was more than worth the trek, as we arrived on a quiet canal street full of houses and only a couple of shops. Seven Bridges Hotel is not a commercial style hotel- it is more like a B&B, with about 10 rooms- all different with absolutely beautiful antiques, and comfy beds.
The breakfast served is substantial-with really good coffee. The room was quiet, had those towels that are just rough enough to invigorate you after a shower, a laptop you can borrow, fast wireless connection, perfect clean bathroom, and all very light and airy.
We were on the top floor in Room 10. Cozy and private with views out over the lovely garden below. Room 9 faces the canal, and is on the same floor- a bit of a hike to the top.
Room 5 was an incredible room with terrace and large bathroom. Persian rugs, tasteful antiques, a stunning room that probably cost more than ours- and we will splurge on next time.
The proprietors were very friendly and helpful, gave us attention when we needed it- called a cab to the airport, showed us where to rent bikes, etc...
Give these guys your business. You will NOT be disappointed.

We spent four nights in early September at the Seven Bridges and absolutely ADORED it. Our room was just gorgeous, with a high ceiling and lovely custom furniture, including a fridge where we could keep our Dutch cheese! The bathroom was spacious (esp. by European hotel standards) and VERY clean, with beautiful tile work. The location is absolutely PERFECT, as far as we were concerned -- on a quiet street in the Canal District, but easy walking distance to ALL Amsterdam’s best attractions (I should know -- I walked EVERYWHERE, from the Van Gogh Museum in the south to the Central Station and Red Light District in the north). It’s also just two blocks away from the bustle of bars and restaurants in the Rembrandtplein and one more block to the Metro, but again, far enough away that you can sleep at night. Just one night was noisy outside -- but with our windows closed and the VERY effective AC running, we couldn’t hear a thing. The included breakfast is simple (many types of bread -- all delicious -- plus yogurt, fruit, cheese and cold cuts, and coffee or tea) but does the trick -- AND they bring it right to your room! It’s VERY elegant and civilized. Just watch out for those STEEEEP stairs, and no elevator... But that's true at ANY charming Amsterdam hotel, really. Seven Bridges is SUCH a great place! Such nice guys running it! Look no further!

It was our second trip to Amsterdam, of course we choose Seven Bridges Hotel!
We booked room no. 6. It’s wonderful room, with the great canal view. So when we had our delicious breakfast at the morning, we could enjoy the view for beautiful canal and fresh Amsterdam’s air! All rooms in this hotel have their own personalities. When you enter the room no. 6, the first you will see it is the beautiful fireplace, then the big mirror covered the whole wall at the head of the bed and majestic marble table near the window. We have very nice bed-clothes all time with different paintings, I liked it very much!
Especially we like the hotel staff, but I should use the other word, because it seems that they our old friends!
They created for us unforgettable atmosphere. Thank you very-very much! We miss you all!
