“Book your Amsterdam stay here! It’s WONDERFUL!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2009

We spent four nights in early September at the Seven Bridges and absolutely ADORED it. Our room was just gorgeous, with a high ceiling and lovely custom furniture, including a fridge where we could keep our Dutch cheese! The bathroom was spacious (esp. by European hotel standards) and VERY clean, with beautiful tile work. The location is absolutely PERFECT, as far as we were concerned -- on a quiet street in the Canal District, but easy walking distance to ALL Amsterdam’s best attractions (I should know -- I walked EVERYWHERE, from the Van Gogh Museum in the south to the Central Station and Red Light District in the north). It’s also just two blocks away from the bustle of bars and restaurants in the Rembrandtplein and one more block to the Metro, but again, far enough away that you can sleep at night. Just one night was noisy outside -- but with our windows closed and the VERY effective AC running, we couldn’t hear a thing. The included breakfast is simple (many types of bread -- all delicious -- plus yogurt, fruit, cheese and cold cuts, and coffee or tea) but does the trick -- AND they bring it right to your room! It’s VERY elegant and civilized. Just watch out for those STEEEEP stairs, and no elevator... But that's true at ANY charming Amsterdam hotel, really. Seven Bridges is SUCH a great place! Such nice guys running it! Look no further!

It was our second trip to Amsterdam, of course we choose Seven Bridges Hotel!
We booked room no. 6. It’s wonderful room, with the great canal view. So when we had our delicious breakfast at the morning, we could enjoy the view for beautiful canal and fresh Amsterdam’s air! All rooms in this hotel have their own personalities. When you enter the room no. 6, the first you will see it is the beautiful fireplace, then the big mirror covered the whole wall at the head of the bed and majestic marble table near the window. We have very nice bed-clothes all time with different paintings, I liked it very much!
Especially we like the hotel staff, but I should use the other word, because it seems that they our old friends!
They created for us unforgettable atmosphere. Thank you very-very much! We miss you all!

I have just returned from a romantic 4 nights in stunning Amsterdam staying in Seven Bridges. All I can say is the hotel lives up to the excellent reviews. Location is excellent, rooms are gorgeous and sumptuous, friendly service which was excellent and the breakfasts are quite simply divine and if that wasn't enough you even have them hand delivered - you can get better than that! My boyfriend and I just loved it - pure luxury!
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and the location is really fantastic, tucked away on a residential street but only 5-10 minute walk from the main squares - PERFECT.
I can not recommend enough visiting the Seven Bridges, you will not be disappointed!

What are fantastic experience! Hotel is centrally located on a main canal but at the same time very quiet & ambient. Service is friendly & intimate. Got a great last minute deal on room which was very roomy & cosy. All the tourist areas are just a block or two away. Free Wifi included. What more can I say but highly recommended!

We had the pleasure of staying in two lovely rooms- Garden Room 4 and Canal View Room 6 -- both lovingly furnished with antiques, bright and airy, lots of room and spacious bathrooms! Pierre was always cheerful in serving elegent breakfasts in the room. You can't ask for a better, more central and walking-friendly location. Narrow stairs might be the only drawback for elderly or handicapped. Fantastic value!

My husband and I recently stayed in Room 6 (Canal Room view). We loved it. The location could not have been better. It was in a quiet, scenic area yet within a couple of blocks of lots of restaurants/activity. The location itself could not have been more picturesque. The was so much old Amsterdam charm. The owners were very gracious and helpful; helped us very early in the morning clarifying our train ticket. You really feel like you're in Amsterdam when you stay here. Some cities it may not matter as much but in Amsterdam, it is wonderful to be able to have such a unique experience. I highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful breakfast as well.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 7 nights in July in Room 6 and I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment.

It is located in a lovely and quiet neighborhood about 5 minutes walk from Rembrandtplein. As others have said the location is excellent and we were able to walk to all of the major sites with no problem. Furthest sites are maybe 25 mins away walking (Centraal station and Anne Frank House) On days we were feeling lazy we caught the tram (located 2 streets over) to our destined site. Tram cost is 2,60 Euro per person for a 1 time ride.

The room was gorgeous with a canal view and was located up one flight of truly steep stairs from the main lobby area. We were totally intimidated by these stairs at first but you do get used to them and the proprietors did help us with our luggage. A comfortable queen sized bed with nice pillows and bedding was a true treat as well as the lovely antique marble table and leather chars we sat at each morning in front of the windows to enjoy our breakfast. Bathroom was equipped with a nice sized shower and was not cramped at all. Good water pressure, clean, and bright, and nice towels, too! We did not really hear any noise at all from the other guests or the street although it is a fairly well used street given its proximity to the Rembrandt square. I would not give this a second thought when considering this hotel because unless you are the world's lightest sleeper you will sleep like a baby. Closet shelving is a bit narrow but lots of shelves to use and also a rod to hang clothes was available. Closets were lockable with lovely old fashioned keys and though the room did not have a safe we felt comfortable leaving valuables locked in the closet or in the hotel safe located with the proprietors.

The breakfast. Oh my. The best part of our experience, I'd say. Delivered to our room each morning at 8 AM (you can select the delivery time when you check in) on a tray loaded with 2 croissants, 2 different types of bread, scones or coffee cake, sliced meats and cheese, oranges, bananas, or sometimes apples, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, yogurt and a variety of jams. Presentation was on china, a different pattern each day, and absolutely lovely. The breads were warm and fresh, fruit was ripe and the coffee strong and delicious. We felt like we were feasting each morning. Due to the size of this breakfast we did not need to eat again until dinner, which we usually had around 9 PM at one of the restaurants in the Rembrandtplein.

Our room was 150 Euros per night including breakfast which I feel was a great deal and on the one day we did not take breakfast, which we advised them of in advance, they deducted the cost of breakfast from our nightly rate (20 euros). Free wifi was also available in our room.

Please consider this hotel for your trip to Amsterdam as it is a true gem and will make your trip memorable and special.
