A friend and I stayed in room 8 at The Seven Bridges Hotel from June 6th - June 10th. We did not arrive until June 7th due to issues with Ryan Air (AVOID AT ALL COSTS!), but Gunter held our room and welcomed us into the hotel on Saturday morning. As indicated in previous reviews the staircase is almost vertical with very thin steps.
Room 8 is exactly as the photo's detail - very large enough for two people and full of antiques. The bath/shower was nice and clean. A great breakfast was delivered each morning to our room - you just let Gunter know what time you would like breakfast and it will be delivered - they are even nice enough to give a courtesy call to the room asking if they could bring up the food in ten minutes.
The hotel location is perfect! The hotel itself sits just to the south of Rembrandt Plein (Square) - which is full of restaurants, cafes and a few coffeeshops. Next to the hotel is Barney's Lounge (One of the several Barney's locations around the city). They are open from 10:00am - 01:00am daily. They serve a great cup of coffee and have a very nice cannabis menu - and it's a great place to start and end the day. Many thanks to Andy for all of his great advice.
When traveling to Amsterdam I would HIGHLY suggest picking up a "I amsterdam card" from the tourist information building located outside of Amsterdam Central Station. The card is good for 24, 48 or 72 hours and get's you free travel on Amsterdam trams and buses, free parking for your car, and free entry to most Amsterdam museums (Anne Frank House not included) - plus two free canal cruises.
I will be making annual pilgrimages from now on and will spend each holiday at Seven Bridges Hotel. Many thanks to you Gunter and your staff for a wonderful stay. See you next year.
