“GREAT Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

I cannot recommend Seven Bridges any more highly. We booked at the last minute and were surprised and delighted to be able to secure Canal View Room B in the "second house" for a week's stay in mid-June. What a fabulous time we had.

From the booking procedures to all the local information they provided, our hosts were perfect -- providing as much service as we needed, or allowing us all the priviacy we wanted. I was accomodated with an extra mattress which fit perfectly in the adjoining room, providing another private sleeping space which we did not anticipate.

Having a fridge and microwave was great, and they even provided small extras like a coffee cone and filters. Noise is generally not an issue for me, so the location on the canal more than offset the activities of some late night "stumblers." For us, the location was perfect, and within easy walking distance of anything you would like to see in the canal zone, including the Central train station. If walking is not your thing, there is a Tram stop one block away.

I'm ready to go back tomorrow!

Room Tip: Bottom floor is much more noisy as building entrance door is on a pressure hinge and closes firmly w...

I cannot disagree with the virtues expressed about this little hotel, its location, friendly proprietor etc - so I add a few points. Free wi- fi excellent/ a radio as well as Tv in room - latter meant I could wztch BBC/ they no longer serve breakfast but plenty of cafes near/ due to building work at back I was given a small reduction from the bill. Do be aware that they are not joking about the stairs they are Very narrow and steep and not suitable for anyone with any walking difficulties.

Seven bridges are in an ideal location in Amsterdam, close to Rembrandt square that is teeming with nightlife. Street noise on the canal side of the building was moderate, but not overwhelming. The staff was helpful when needed, but mostly left guests to themselves. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were large, and the bed had a very comfortable memory foam mattress. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This is a lovely hotel in a great quite location near Rembrandt Square so there are lots of amenities nearby. The rooms are amazing - large with good sized bathrooms and very hot water. The rooms are just as they appear on the website (sometime I have found this not to be the case). I felt our room was a good value for the money. The fellows that run the hotel are very helpful and pleasant.

Seven Bridges Hotel routinely gets high marks in this and other travel forums and they are well deserved. We recently stayed in room number 5 which overlooks the back garden area. It's a spacious, lovely room. We found Seven Bridges to be an ideal location for touring Amsterdam, convenient to trams and easy walks throughout the canal belt.

I can't stress strongly enough that the location of Seven Bridges has to be one of its best selling points. We found an excellent, authentic Italian Restaurant (Ponte Arcari) just a block away where we ate three evening meals. A block away, around the corner in the opposite direction, you'll find a fruit vendor, bakery, deli, excellent Indonesian restaurants and canal view after canal view.

We only experience one small glitch, which was not the fault of the hotel. Our block woke up to no water one morning due to a leak in the municipal system which was fixed by the time we returned from our day trip to Arnhem and Oosterbeek. Pierre met us at the door as we returned from the trip and comped our next morning's breakfast to make up for the inconvenience.

Our trip was enhanced by staying at Seven Bridges. While we toured various neighborhoods and attractions, we spied several of the other hotels which we considered and were very happy not to have chosen. Seven Bridges is an exceptional place...quiet, convenient and clean, I strongly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Room 5 is exceptional!

This lovely little hotel added greatly to our enjoyment of Amsterdam. We stayed in the second-floor room at #35 and it's a very comfortable room with a view of two canals. Pierre and the other staff are friendly and very helpful. Just a delightful experience.

Room Tip: There's a (typical-for-Amsterdam) steep stairway to the room at #35, but if that's not a pro...

Not difficult to find when arriving in Amsterdam, my then boyfriend and I found our way to this quaint hotel. Friendly reception by staff, who were very helpful throughout our stay. We were a bit disorganised with our trip back to the airport, but the guy at reception was very helpful in advising on getting a taxi and making it in time for our flight.
Was nice to get breakfast served in the room, nice start of the day. Was stunned at the amazing furniture! Quite a different touch.
