“Hotel Seven Bridges”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2012

This hotel is convenient to everything in Amsterdam. I walked to the museums, to the train station, the center of town - everywhere. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, steep stiars. Great ambiance. Coffee shops/ bakeries open late in the morning and there was not one close to the hotel, so I would reccommend taking the owners up on their offer to deliver you breakfast in your room. Very clean and bright room facing the canal.

While in Brussels, Belgium, we decided upon Seven Bridges and the morning of our travels to Amsterdam. They had one room left in the "annex" building on the ground floor. It was very roomy, comfortable and QUIET. We were right around the corner from Rembrandt's Square and a Super Market as well as being right on a canal. For the quiet, solitude, cleanliness of the room and hospitality, we had no complaints w/our accommodations and would definitely recommend. This room also had a closet kitchenette, very cute! Great decor, but again, mostly...the QUIET! A nice escape after walking all day touring about.

Room Tip: You probably will not go wrong with any room here UNLESS you have concerns with stairs. The stairs...

We stayed at Seven Bridges for 3 nights in Dec. 2011. The location is right on the canal in good proximity to all Amsterdam has to offer and at a very reasonable rate. Our room was in the house next to the hotel office which faced the canal. The room was clean, had a kitchenette with a fridge, a sitting area with a TV, and free WiFi. The staff was friendly and we would recommend the Seven Bridges to anyone looking for a place in Amsterdam.

We stayed for three nights at Seven Bridges Hotel in Amsterdam, in Canal Suite C.

The room is in the house next door to the hotel, we received a very warm welcome

The suite has a sitting room to the front overlooking the canal, with bedroom and bathroom to the rear of the house.

The furniture decor and fittings were lovely, some beautiful antiques. Great to have the bedroom to the rear, lovely and quiet.

The location of the hotel is perfect, just one block from tram stop, with lots of good restaurants nearby. Easy to find a good base for discovering Amsterdam

We would definitely stay again, lovely lovely lovely

Room Tip: Canal Suite C - slightly more expensive but well worth it

This hotel has a few quirks when reserving...no online booking, call or fax only with your info, strict cancellation policies, etc. The info they post about their hotel is very straightforward in the sense that if you don't like how they run their hotel, you don't need to stay there. So, go into your Seven Bridges stay completely informed. And, choose your room wisely. The stairs are insane. I watched the video another reviewer has posted and they are no joke. Carrying any more than a weekend bag up those stairs could be a nightmare.

My friend and I stayed in Room 4 because it offered the cheapest rates and we didn't have to use the stairs. The room is as pictured on the hotel website. It is about a standard size for most European hotels. It looks out onto a small garden. The mattress is really comfortable and the temperature of the room was comfortable considering the cold February temperatures outside. The bathroom was small and the water pressure a little low, but it was clean. You could occasionally hear other guests in the morning shuffling about. Free wifi is available with directions in the room as to how to access the internet. It is, however, a bit on the slow side, but free internet nonetheless, which I really appreciate when traveling. TV has mostly Dutch channels, but a couple of English stations are available.

The staff was friendly, held our bags at both the beginning and end of our stay, offered us outlet adaptors when our Italian plugs didn't fit, suggested dining spots, and called a taxi for us. All in all...we really liked it. It feels more like staying at a friends' house than a hotel. It has a charming feel.

Room 4 in February for 4 nights cost us €100 per night. The location is fantastic. Just a few blocks away were plenty of eating spots for every meal.

My husband and I stayed in Suite C Feb 18th weekend. The view over the canal was wonderful. The room was charming and while the buidling and furniture were from another period, the room amenties were modern. The bed was tempurpedic,a/c unit in the room, coffee supplies, bathroom amenties, new TV, even a mid size refrigerator if we decided to go to the store for food supplies. The suite C contained a bedroom plus sitting room. Certainly more room than a standard hotel room.
One word of caution: steep stairway to the room so do not bring a heavy suitcase. No issues for us with our weekend bag.

Room Tip: We chose the canal room over the garden room becuase we wanted a view. The room was quiet at night...

This is a wonderful eccentric hotel, an experience in its own right. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable, almost opulent. Our was furnished with art-deco fittings, including a table from the famous Cafe Slavia in Prague where Franz Kafka used to eat. The hotel is close to anything you might want to visit in Amsterdam and surrounded by restaurants and cafe. Our window looked out on a tranquil canal. There's one of Amsterdam's famous 'coffee shops' nearby. I can't recommend Hotel Seven Bridges enough. By the way, the breakfast is expensive but well worth it.

Room Tip: Even though our room face the canal and was, theoretically, noisy, the triple glazing keeps it down...
