My husband and I just returned from a 6- night stay at the Seven Bridges.
It was our first visit to Amsterdam, and we decided on the Seven Bridges based on all the Trip Advisor reviews. All I can say is … the reviews could not have been more correct. We decided to stay in Room 6 based on the pictures posted on their web site.
For two people, we had plenty of room, and a nice size bathroom with shower. We also wanted a canal view, and this room overlooked one of the prettiest (so we were told on our canal boat tour) in all of Amsterdam. I strongly suggest checking out the web site, as it gives very good detailed information, and I like that you can actually see pictures of the rooms. Keep in mind (as the web site states), the photos are taken with a wide-angle lens, but they are still a very good size. We actually got to see Room 5, and even though it did not have a canal view, it was a little larger and had a little patio where you could sit out (weather permitting) and have breakfast. It was lovely, and next time, we may have to try Room 5.
If you are looking to stay in a beautiful, spotless clean, friendly-staffed canal house, then this is the place for you. Our room rate included breakfast, which was served in our room each morning. Fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, yogurt, fruit, croissants and delicious breads and jam made for a great start to the day, and there was plenty to carry you over to lunch if need be. Each morning we would open up the curtains, sit by the windows and watch the morning unfold Amsterdam style.
Gunter, Pierre and Erik were very discreet, and the perfect hosts.
If you needed something or had a question, they were there. Otherwise, you were left alone to enjoy and come and go as you please.
As for location, you could not ask for better. We used the tram only a few times, as walking is so easy and so much more fun. Pack a pair of good walking shoes, get lost on purpose, and just explore.
I’d like to thank Gunter, Pierre and Erik for a memorable stay.
And … I special thank you to our friends (you know who you are), for our wonderful dinners, day trips and 13-mile bike ride!
