This hotel (if you can call it that) was the only bad part of a great overall trip to Amsterdam. I was in a twin room on my own, which was boring, dirty, noisy, dingy and a bit scary!!! here is a real hostile clinical feel to the place, way too much noise and no personality. The walls were filthy and there was dried mucous and snot smeared along the wall with other stains that I didn't even want to investigate. The shower was virtually non existent (I felt no cleaner for having one) and the water presure was so bad that I could not wash my hair. The breakfasts were poor, the service was questionable and I would not tell my worst enemy to stay at the Hans Brinker.

this is a reely bad hotel we went here in 2005 with college the rooms smelt reely bad dirty towels dirty sheets and worst off all dirt on the walls it is terrible the breakfast is only good if you have payed extra myadvise stay on the coach may be a little bit cramped but hey a good clean nite sleep you will get

heya stayed in hans brinker on a college trip from ireland. after reading the reviews i was dreading the stay but after staying there i would definetly go back again and it just goes to show never believe everything you read. yes its basic but is quite cosy and the staff are very friendly so it was great fun staying there.

I have just returned from a college visit to Amsterdam, staying in the erm.. cosy Hans Brinker Hotel!The last hotel I had been to, only a few months previous was a 6* luxury in Dubai, so I was not looking forward to this!!
Even though there was no bell boy, no room service, no swimming pool and no gormet restaurant, I have to say I had an excellent time!Yes the rooms are snug, and very basic,but they are clean (even for some one so fussy as me!). It is noisy at night, but ear plugs do the trick!
The bar is very reasonable- 3 euros for a drink- and any shot is a higher measurment.
The hostel is right in the centre of the action, and more paletable food available very nearby. Museums and galleries are a short walk away, as is a huge range of shops- from condom stores to Chanel!
Just go to have a laugh- the huge night clubs (Paradiso) selling large quantities of alcohol make it more bearable!Enjoy!
