Although the check in time is 3pm, we actually were able to check in at 7:30am. It has an elevator thankfully because the stairs, like many in Amsterdam are STEEP. There is no air conditioning but that was okay because we went in September so we didn't need it but i think in summer you would. Maybe a good hint is to request a lower floor in the summer. No window screens but that is common. I just think about bugs in the summer but I don't know what they are like there in Amsterdam. I'm in Texas, screens for me here are mandatory. The water is scalding hot VERY quickly and I didn't think about that before I stuck in my hands. The place could have been more tidy. I think that no one had used this room in a while as there was a thin layer of dust on the furniture and the carpet wasn't vacuumed. However, that was rectified the next day when we had the room had its daily cleaning. The towels are small and thin. No wash cloths or bar soap. There is a electric kettle with coffee and tea available. The breakfast is 7.50 euro. yougurt granola cheese cold cuts cereal toast etc. Nothing that says wow at but it will work. Unless you are super hungry for a hot meal.
I loved the location of this hotel. the back yard was Vondelpark for nice walks and it is a very quiet part of the city which is great because I see how many hotels in Amsterdam might be dificult to sleep at when it is night time. I have stayed in better hotels but this was nice because it wasn't super expensive AND you could cancel your reservation if you needed to which for us is very important. Right next to Jacob Oberechstraat tram stop, but a nice walk to theVan Gogh and Reijksmuseum.
