“Cheap cheerful and worth a stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The accommodation is fairly basic but is generally clean and well cared for!
There are TVs in the rooms and an iron etc available.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is free WiFi!
The whole thing really is a hotel on a boat so the occasional sway is felt but nothing too bad.
The location is a twenty minute ferry crossing from central station which is free!
The ramp onto the boat is steep but wheelchair access would be okay!
I would stay again.

This hotel was clean & staff are very helpful. Rooms are a little bit on the small side but are ok if your only planning on sleeping there. Location wasn't great, found we had to catch a ferry to get there, or pay for taxi as it was to far to walk around the river.

If you don;t know it by now, yes it is a boat and a hotel :) The location is a bit outside the city but you can take a FREE ferry to the central station, less than a 5 mins walk from the botel. The rooms are a bit small but basically that is what is needed, after all you are in Amsterdam. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they will tell you everything about main attraction and the ride to the city.

We stayed at the Botel for two nights in July. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff for check-in. The staff provided us with all the information we'd need for our stay in at the hotel. The room was very basic, with a tiny bathroom/toilet. The breakfast buffet every morning was great quality. Staying on the top level, we had some lovely views of the port of Amsterdam. Overall we had a good experience at staying at the Botel and would consider staying there again.

The Botel (a boat hotel) is a free ferry ride minutes away from Central Station. The rooms are very basic, no hair dryer or tea and coffee in room, but I did enjoy my stay there, it was a very chilled out experience. The staff were helpful, the breakfast was good, and the rooms more than adequate. It was beautiful watching the sunrise and set on the water in the dock outside our window. The hard bed needed getting used to, but that is personal preference and not a criticism. The Botel also offer a shuttle bus service if you need to catch a night/early morning ferry to Central Station. So even though there was no luxury to be had, it was such an easy going experience at the hotel, that I will return there the next time I am in Amsterdam.

The Botel had very small rooms but comfortable and clean the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating the breakfast was excellent. The journey to the Amstel botel can only be accessed by ferry boat ( free of charge ) the boat station is behind Amsterdam Central Station the last boat to the Amstel Botel is at 12:00pm. I would reccommend this hotel for any one looking for an adventure it was perfect.
