“Wonderful Cozy Smoking Room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2011

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a romantic 10 day vacation in Amsterdam at the end of December 2010 through the beginning of January 2011. The hotel was a short walk from Central Station. The huge church next door made it very easy to find. We stayed in the double smoking room on the fourth floor. The room was very clean and didn't smell like smoke, despite it being a smoking room. The weather was incredibly cold compared to what we're use to so a smoking room was a nice luxury to have. It was very private and cozy. We had a small room with a view of the church and the Singel canal. The staff was incredible helpful and provided us with decent map and advise on places we should checkout and places we shouldn't waste our time at. The hotel was close enough to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was delicious and was a great way to start off our day. I would stay here anytime I am in the wonderful city of Amsterdam.

Total of 4 nights stay. The hotel is about a five minute walk from Central Station, overlooking the Singel canal. It sits just outside the city center, but the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful towards the evening and so we got a great night's sleep each night. Our room was a triple room (room 26, overlooking the canal). Room and bathroom were very clean and we never ran out of towels, toilet paper, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offered was lovely. As previously mentioned, close to city center (about a ten minute walk) and also close to Anne Frank House. Overall a very enjoyable stay and great value for price, would definitely recommend.

The service we experienced at this hotel was second to none! Every member of staff was extremely helpful and always cheerful. The rooms were fairly small but extremely clean and always very warm which was great as the weather was really cold in December. The location of the hotel is perfect as a base for sight seeing and surounded by many good restaurants.
A very special thanks to the hotel staff for the help we received after a member of our party had their purse (with credit cards) taken from a handbag.

Went for a shopping weekend to Amsterdam and stayed in the Singel Hotel. It were a few very pleasant days and nights. We wanted to know the best hot spots in the city. The friendly staff told us all we wanted to know about the places to be. After a good night rest in the charming room, we had a nice and tasteful breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to stay in Amsterdam.

We stayed in the Singel Hotel during our city trip to Amsterdam and we are happy we booked this hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very comfortable. The hotel is located at the Singel canal, only a short walk from the central station. All mayor attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Rooms are not very spacious, but clean and the beds were comfortable which is the most important thing after a day of sightseeing in Amsterdam.
We want to thank the complete staff for being so kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!
