“Don't stay in this area if you want to get any sleep!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2011

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the noise in this area of Amsterdam!
We certainly had no complaints about the hotel itself except the breakfast room is tiny. Staff are very friendly and helpful, we even had a call from the manager to say a room facing the canal had become available if we wanted to move but we had asked for a quiet room at the back so decided to stay there.
Just over the road near the Ann Frank house is the oldest church in Amsterdam and it makes it's presence known every 15 minutes by ringing it's bells as if there is some sort of royal wedding taking place, then chimes out the time! this goes on all day and right through the night so if you are lucky, you can grab 10 minutes sleep before it kicks off again!
A nice hotel, lovely city and our break completely spoiled by lack of sleep.

We stayed there at the Nadia on the way to and from our holiday in Africa. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms, although small, were clean and adequate. It has a great location on the tram line, close to the Anne Frank House and within walking distance of pretty much everything one would need. We had a room facing the canal and did not find the noise an issue. The stairs are steep, but that would be normal for Amsterdam, besides they put our luggage in our room. They supplied a good breakfast and had free WiFi. They kept a winter bag for us while we were in Africa which we appreciated. Also, what we considered a very nice touch, was flowers in our room welcoming us back after our safari. It will be our regular hotel on our return trips to Europe. We had a great stay

it was ok this was our second stay with nadia staff are very nice and helpfull. wasnt great hotel the last room was better. the room was dirty floor crack in the window rip in the curtains and toilet very smelly as no window or vent in toilet. bed clothes had holes and very dusty rooms.the stairs are very steep and narrow and lots of them it has no lift and very old fashioned hotel. needs to be done up we paid 200 for 3 nights defently not worth the price i would recommend reting an appartment its the same price and much more spacious i will be sticking with stayamsterdam.com there brill. i wont be staying again but the staff are great. good location 5 min walk to dam square, trams busses and ten mins from central station.

Very helpful friendly staff, without exception. Small room, but warm and very clean, very comfortable bed. Flowers in a vase with a little welcome note attached. Continental style breakfast, in large quantities. This hotel is in a good location within easy walking distance of most attractions, cafes, restaurants etc. We would most definately return to the Nadia Hotel.
The rooms at the front of the Hotel can be a little noisey due to the Trams etc, so best opt for a room on the Canal side, not sure if there are rooms overlooking back of Hotel.

This is the 3rd time we have come back to the Nadia. The location is the best thing, around a 7 minute walk until your at dam square and everything you need. The staff are very friendly and helpful, you needn't worry about climbing the stairs with your case as they come down and collect it. They've recognised us everytime and you still get the usual complementary drink on arrival. The rooms are tiny, theres no other word for them but they are clean! We get the balcony room which is nice as its a bit more space to use! The staff arent pushy, if you dont want the room cleaned on certain days they leave it until you want it done which is nice if your only staying 2 nights and have your own towels etc. Saras pancake house next door is worth a visit although the pancake bakery near Ann Franks' house tops it (Sara isnt very happy most of the time!).

The Nadia is a great location and the staff is warm, friendly and helpful. If you are American, you'll say the rooms are small, bu I loved my stay and all the "extras"
The staff went out of their way to be accomodating and you can't beat the location.
It can be a little noisey because of the tram and street but most of Amsterdam is.
I would stay here again and again.
