This was our second stay at the Nadia during the holidays and we have had the same experience both times. This is a budget hotel with small rooms and steep staircases (not for those who are out of shape). However, the rooms are well designed with lots of shelves and storage, very clean and comfortable, all with fridge, safe and free wifi. The family that runs the hotel go overboard in making you feel welcome and attending to your special requests quickly and graciously. The free continental breakfast is fine and the coffee (served all day) and croissants, excellent.
If you know Amsterdam and want to stay in a beautiful canal neighborhood, near the "9 Streets", on the edge of the "Jordaan", the location cannot be beat. Short walk to the Dam, the big Albert Hein, Leidsestraat, near many tram lines, but still in a quieter, residential part of the old city. Lots of small, excellent neighborhood restaurants a short walk ( 't Zwaantje on Berenstraat an de Struisvogel at Keizergracht 312 are among our favorites).
