“Location, location, location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2010

We stayed at Hotel Nadia for 4 nights. As we read many reviews about steep steps, we were prepared but we were still surprised how small and how steep the steps are! The room was very tiny! smallest room I have ever stayed...However, the location is the best! You can walk to Anne Frank house, rental bike shops, convinience stores and other main tourist spots. They also offer free Wi-fi interner! Also it was close to tram station. Staff were very kind and helpful. This hotel would be suitable for someone who only need to sleep for short stay.

Stairs were extremely steep although we were warned about this. Bags were transported to room and welcome drink was offered at reception desk. Room was about the size of a cabin on a ship with less drawers and hanging space, but were very clean.
Breakfast which was included was adequate but would suggest an earlier starting time than 7.30am. Staff were very pleasant and always helpful.

We spent just one night at the Nadia, our last night in the Netherlands after a two-week trip throughout the Low Countries. It is centrally located, and while it is on a busy street, the neighborhood as a whole is relatively quiet and peaceful. It’s a short walk to restaurants and cafes in the Jordaan as well as to the shopping in and around Dam Square.

Our room at the Nadia was impressively small, but it was cozy and clean enough for a one-night stay in the city. Our balcony had a decent view of the Westerkerk, and it was an excellent spot for watching the busy Raadhuistraat below. Because the hotel’s on a major road with auto and tram traffic, the room had a little bit of street noise at night---but with a fan running in the room, that noise was easily drowned out and we slept well. The Nadia’s breakfast is served in a corner room with windows opening out on the surrounding neighborhood. The food was a usual Dutch breakfast---good but nothing fancy.

What the Nadia lacks in spacious accommodations, it makes up for in excellent service. The staff was absolutely outstanding---friendly, helpful, welcoming, and good humored. When we arrived, we were offered a cold drink, and a porter helped carry our bags up the stairs to the front desk (the stairs, even by Netherlands standards, are long and steep); since we arrived early, before check-in time, we were able to drop our bags and go exploring; and we were also able to visit the house cats, Hello and Goodbye.

Overall, the Nadia is probably best for short stays, when you’re looking primarily for a clean, comfortable place to crash and not a room to luxuriate in---it’s a good value. We were impressed by the customer service, and we’d definitely stay here again.

Yes, compared to some, Dutch rooms are small and the stairs tall, but our week-long Nadia Hotel stay was A1 all the way: extremely friendly helpful staff, great service, and location, location, location!! No more than 15-minute walks to every Centrum attraction in Amsterdam-- museums, shopping, beautiful scenery everywhere you look-- all room amenities in perfect working order, plenty of lights, private bath, public transportation literally right to the front door-- I can't imagine a more positive hotel experience. And very affordable for the budget conscious too. We definitely recommend looking at the Nadia Hotel if you plan to come to Amsterdam. You'll love it too...

This hotel is centrally located on the tram system, and within easy walking of the Dam area and the Jordaan. When we opened the front door and I looked up the stairs, my heart skipped a beat as I did not think I could carry my suitcase up them, Not to worry , a young man carried everything up, and I mean up, and also carried them down when we left so the stairs were not an issue, but they could be if you were not fairly fit. One of our party of 4 was in her 80's,and she managed just fine, but she is very fit for her age.
The room was small for 2 people, but we managed. The vase of lillies was a lovely touch, and we had a view onto the canal.t was alittle noisy from the nearby main road with the trams, but it did not prove to be a problem sleeping. There was a TV, room safe and a coffee and tea maker. The shower was small, but fine.
breakfast was included and was better than some we had on our trip.

i would certainly stay here again should I return to Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and gave us maps and information. i loved the location, and felt at home here.
There are no frills, and the room was basic, but i would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants value of money, friendly staff, and a central location.

I trully recommend Hotel Nadia: the position is excellent, only 5 minutes away from Dam Square and Amsterdam Centraal Station, the staff is very friendly, makes you definitelly don't wanna leave anymore the hotel, very clean, safe, internet access.
I had booked a quiet room (which I recommend as well), as I needed rest (being also a solo traveller), so If you need a comfortable stay and no nervs, book your room to Nadia Hotel! The right place to be!

P.s: the rooms are quite small, but very cozy

The Nadia is a nice hotel; we appreciated the fridge & coffee maker, lacking in many hotels. Breakfast is spartan but gets you up and running without wasting time. The rooms are compact but have everything you need including wireless internet. Ringing the front door to get in is a bit quaint and the stairs to get to rhe reception are typically old world and steep. You need to be spry and not overweight! Location is great and the staff very very helpful, our stay was very enjoyable.
