“Absolutely superb, yet again...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2009

This was the third time staying at the Nadia and still it's just as good as the first time. There is not anything that is too much trouble for any of the staff, they make you feel really welcome and will help with whatever you need. Rooms are small but really well equipped and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a nice clean and budget accommodation that is only a five minute walk from Dam Square and walking distance to everywhere really!

We found this hotel great, had a corner room, terrific view, breakfast was very fine. We will stay here again. Easy walking to most things downtown.

Hotel Nadia is a small, quaint, hotel directly in the City Center of Amsterdam. The staff is fabulous and extremely service-oriented. They make you feel like they are actually very pleased to have you and go out of their way to make you feel welcome....unlike a lot of hotels that just throw you the room key (card) and send you on your way. When I say "authentic Amsterdam experience" I mean, steeeeeeeeep staircase leading up to the hotel, no A/C in the rooms (but the weather is so spectacular, who needs one?!), and tiny, tiny, tiny. It really made us feel like we were experiencing Amsterdam...not just visiting. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and I highly recommend it. If you're used to "stuffy & ritzy" $300+/night hotels and don't like to experience new things, then don't stay here. This hotel is for travelers who want a clean room, excellent service, and to really be a part of the place they are visiting.

Location was OK, it was clean, not a cheap hostel though not a 5-star hotel obviously.
Enough for a quiet 5-day city visit. Breakfast was good.
Price not very cheap, but seems in line with other hotels in the city.
The room was not big, but it was enough for sleeping comfortably.

stayed two nights in Hotel Nadia with 3 rooms total for family group. Yes, Hotel Nadia has those stairs, but it is a true Canal house. The Hotel handles your bags, no need for you to drag them up. When you tour Amsterdam, you see the hundreds of canal houses, you can stay in one and see how the locals live.
We had the quad room 3rd floor and it had the most lovely view of the canal and the Westerkirk. Another family member had a balcony room for 2 second floor and although a very small room, the balcony was terrific. I read a book about the Anne Frank house (the house is just around the corner) while lying in bed quad room with the Westerkirk church tower right out my window in full view. I came upon a photo in the book of the tower out the attic room window where Anne lived that was the exact view of the church tower but from a 90 degree turned angle. That is, I was looking at the west side and she the north side but identical view. Made goose bumps on my arms.
Sheets clean and crisp, clean bathroom, no A/C but was cool with windows open and fan on. Nice breakfast, breads, juice, tea, coffee, cake, many jams, nuttell chocolate spread. Fresh flowers in the room.
The walk to the city center Dam and then down to the train station area to do a canal boat tour took us down busy streets crowded with young people, and to our older eyes, strange people, but the strolls down the canals themselves were much calmer and more quite. I liked the city much better away from the Dam. Long walk to the flower market and on to the art museum was wonderful along the canals. Stopped for cafe meals. Sara's Pancake House two doors down from Hotel Nadia has wonderful crepes (pancakes - but not the american type) and great hot chocolate for a pm meal, open til 9:30pm.
We felt Hotel Nadia was a good value for its location, cleanliness and exceptional view. Get away from the city center and walk along the many canals for a pleasant time.
