“great value for money!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2009

OK, it’s a 2-star hotel but when it comes to value for money and the very friendly and helpful staff it’s a 5-star hotel with a great location (only 5 minutes from the Dam Square)! We stayed for 5 nights in late January. The rooms are nice and clean and especially the canal side rooms have a really nice view. The rooms on the Raadhuis Straat side suffer slightly from the traffic noise but hey, if you’re disturbed by traffic noise, don’t go into big cities! :) Their breakfast is very basic but it was quite adequate for us (bread, cheese, coffee, orange juice, yogurt, cake, bisquits etc.). The staff carries your luggage to/from the room which is a really nice plus considering all those steep stairs in the building ;-) The manager even sent some birthday flowers to our room! All in all, Hotel Nadia is a place we would definitely stay again when in Amsterdam the next time.

We couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Nadia - a small but perfectly-formed hotel in a location that couldn't be more central for visiting the prime attractions of Amsterdam.

The staff were unfailingly friendly, offering us a welcome drink upon arrival and upgrading us from a standard room to a room with a balcony. On most occasions they had our room key ready for us by the time we had climbed the stairs (more on those later...). While the room was small, it was typical of Amsterdam hotel rooms - and come on, are you really going to spend all day in your room? I think not. It was absolutely spotless and you could have bounced a coin off the sheets. The cleaner even folded our clothes.

As many other reviewers have mentioned, there is a formidable flight of stairs to negotiate before arriving at reception, so is unlikely to be suitable for disabled travellers or those with small children. However, the staff are happy to carry your bags up for you and will also allow you to leave your bags in their luggage room if you have a late flight and wish to do some last-minute sightseeing.

We had not expected breakfast when booking so were pleased to find it was free - and very good indeed.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Nadia and would not hesitate to recommend it to others visiting Amsterdam.

The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from Dam Square - there are a number of other one and two star properties in the same 'block'.

I stayed in a single room which was tiny but perfectly fine for a two night stay, and considering the rate I paid it would be churlish to complain. Staff were very friendly.

I searched quite a bit of time for a hotel in Antwerp. I wanted to be in a good location, but not too far away from the train station. Here are the elements about the Nadia which I liked:

*Friendly
*Clean
*Free Wi-fi (I found that in other parts of Europe, it was 20 Euro a day)
*Very close to the "9 Little Streets" neighborhood which features great independent coffee, food, beer, etc.

The only downside (not for me) would be the very steep stairs to get up to the Nadia hotel. For those with health issues, this would be a consideration.

My 6 year old daughter and I stayed at Hotel Nadia one night and day on our way back to the US from South Africa. Our primary purpose in Amsterdam was to go to the Anne Frank House and tour a bit. We chose Hotel Nadia because it is 1/2 block from the Anne Frank House (we could see the Anne Frank House from our hotel window!).

I mentioned when booking that it happened to be my daughter's birthday, and when we arrived, there was a stunning flower arrangement in a glass vase. Osam had upgraded us to a triple room on a canal (three single beds, which my daughter loved!) Osam and his staff greeted us like long lost family when we checked in and made a fuss over my daughter. We immediately felt comfortable and taken care of.

We found the room to be more than enough room. It was very clean. The continental breakfast buffet is tasty (yogurt, toast, cake and fruit) and is enough food to fuel your morning of touring Amsterdam.

We will return to Hotel Nadia the next time we are in Amsterdam. Osam and his staff treat their guests top notch. The location is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Best of all, however, is the personal service. My daughter will never forget it!
