“Tiny room, steep stairs, nice people, perfect location, great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

I really loved staying here. It's in a perfect spot and has a great local feel. To get to the reception and some rooms requires climbing dauntingly steep stairs. Our room (the last remaining in the hotel) barely fit two twin beds and the bathroom was little bigger than a postage stamp. The size didn't bother us though--everything was clean and perfectly laid out with lots of outlets, shelves etc. One complaint--the lighting was a little too dim. It couldn't be in a more perfect location, on the tram, near a canal boat stop, walking distance from the center of the city and numerous museums and surrounding by great restaurants.

This is not a luxury hotel but, then, you are also not paying luxury prices. I would stay here again in a heartbeat but, due to the stairs, I wouldn't recommend it for parents with toddlers or for anyone with walking trouble.

The location was good close to a tram stop, or an easy 10 min walk to the central train station. Yes, the stairs are very steep but they do carry your bags to and from your rooms. We found the breakfast variety limited. A toaster would be a much needed addition as well as a greater variety of fresh fruit. The fresh flowers in the room are a nice touch.

We stayed at hotel nadia in nov 2013. It was out first wedding anniversary. The staff were amazing. The hotel was very well located in amsterdam. Our room was upgraded to a canal view room free of charge because the staff discovered we were on an aniversay trip. The breakfast was nice. The hiyel is small and they make great use of the space. I will definatly stay there again. ..... yes the stairs are steep the staff help with checkin and offered us a drink on arrival. The stairs are not that hard to go up but they are very steep. Cant recommend enough.

We stayed in Hotel Nadia for four nights. We were upgraded to a balcony room which was amazing as we smoke. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We arrived at 9am and our room wasn't ready until 2 but we were allowed leave our bags and have breakfast which was great. Location is amazing. Perfect for couples we'd absolutely recommend it and will stay there from now on!

Room Tip: Get a balcony room!

Me and my mum stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We arrived at around 10am so we were a bit early for check-in but we were encouraged to enjoy a drink and breakfast! We also left our luggage in their secure storage for the rest of the day, we didn't even have to return to check-in. Once we returned to the hotel on that first day, our bags were already in our rooms (thank goodness, those stairs are crazy steep!) and they had given use a vase of fresh flowers!

Throughout our stay the staff were extremely friendly, with a great sense of humour! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and, despite being small, the rooms were very clean. Once again, when it came to leave, we were allowed to leave our luggage behind since our flight was quite late. Nothing at all was a problem.

The location is very central to sightseeing, we could see Westerkerk from our window and see the queue for Anne Frank! I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and even return myself.

We booked three rooms at the nadia hotel for a one night sta for six people. We all found that it was delightful, quirky, traditional and comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful, with free access to the breakfast room for tea and coffee. They even gave flowers to one of our group who was celebrating a birthday.
the hotel is central and quite close to Dam square.
One word of caution, when they say the entrance stairs are steep, they really mean it! Definitely not for anyone who has difficulty with stairs!

Yes, the rooms are small and the stairs are steep (any steeper and they would legally be required to call it a ladder) but the people are nice, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast is great and comes with a fabulous view. The best thing about the Hotel Nadia, however, is its location. It is right off the centre of Amsterdam and is within easy walking distance of everything--including the tram and the train station if you wish to go further afield. In terms of value for money, if would be difficult to beat Hotel Nadia.
