The Nadia is a great little hotel on the Radhuisstraat, right near the Anne Frank House and right near the center of Centrum - a perfect location to have a home base for exploration of Amsterdam's historic center. The hotel is very comfortable, and the staff is superb - friendly and efficient. Osam, the manager, is a wonderful man - very kind, helpful and eager to make sure your needs are met. A top notch choice of hotel that belies its two-star status. A real treat!

From what I read on the website, I expected the room to be better. We stayed at the Nadia for 3 nights at the end of a 4 city tour in Europe. Compared to the other hotels we stayed in, which were all in the same price range (although in different cities), I thought the Nadia was the least enjoyable. As others have mentioned, the rooms were small; we had a real hard time even trying to find places to lie down our suitcases. We resorted to moving the chairs from under the desk and placing our cases below the desk. The room didn't appear as clean as I would have liked. The drapes appeared dirty and I noticed holes in the bed linens. On the positive side, the location was nice and close to main attractions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. If I return to Amsterdam, I would look into other hotels before re-booking at the Nadia.

Great hotel. I was looking for a quad room, reasonably price and a good location. The Nadia meet all my requirements. The room was a decent size with a private bath, refrigerator and a canal view. It wasn't fancy but was clean and comfortable. The staff is outstanding and very friendly and helpful. I had to book this room directly with the hotel. The internet travel sites I used did not offer an option for a quad room. I contacted the hotel directly and submitted a request for a quad room and the dates I wanted. They responded very quickly with a room rate. The hotel is in a great location - within walking distance of the Anne Frank house. The entryway has very steep stairs to climb and if you have trouble walking or climbing this hotel is not for you. Luckily the staff carries your luggage to your room for you! The location is great but it can be a little noisy because the hotel is located on a main road. One night I had to wear my ear plugs but the Dutch had just won a World Cup match and cars honked their horns and people partied until early morning! I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would highly reommend it.

Could not praise Nadia more - we had a wonderful stay.

Let's get the steep stairs/small rooms stuff out of the way first! If you're not up to steep stairs (and I mean steep) then forget it, and if you are looking for the luxury of wide open spaces, this is not for you - look somewhere else.

That stuff aside, you will do well if you find a better value-for-money hotel in Amsterdam.

The staff are friendly and helpful, exceptionally so, and I mean all of them. The rooms are clean and are serviced regularly, shower excellent, fridge and safe provided in the cost, very secure and, inspite of the size, comfortable.

The breakfast room is sweet and attractive, with a little balcony overlooking the street and canal and across to the Westerkerk. The breakfast is, as you would expect, continental; croissants, rolls, various breads, cake, butter, jams, fruit juice, coffee, etc. More than adequate for us, but if you want more, there's is little pancake cafe next to Nadia.

And if you have problems the hotel staff can't do enough to help!!
I lost my wallet in the city, the support and advice of the staff and their practical help was wonderful (thank you again Nadia). I got it back by the way, a street musician handed it in to a police station - would that happen in Norwich??

So, that's my 'penneth', if you decide to give it a go I don't think you will be disappointed.

I have just come back from staying at the Nadia Hotel for two nights with my husband. I really can't fault it. Our room was lovely and clean with a beautiful view over the canal and city below. The shower room was small, but was spotless and the shower was really powerful. The location was perfect - very central to all attractions and for the money, I was very impressed. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and although the stairs are a bit daunting, they really weren't a problem for us. The breakfast room is a lot smaller than it looks on the website, but again it didn't cause any problems in the mornings.
We are hoping to return to Amsterdam next year and would certainly stay at the Nadia again.
