“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Central location!Very nice with the discount you get if you pre-pay the hotelroom, wich make the hotel really affordable and you get value for the money.
Very tiny rooms but nice staff and breakfast included in the price.
We had a balconyroom wich was nice, unfortunetly it rained all the time but that´s not Nadias fault :)

Didn´t really liked the street the hotel was on, to buissy and to much construction-work going on and not really that relaxed to sit and peoplewatch on, but it worked!

+ Great value for money (especially if you pre-pay)
+ Central location
+ Breakfast included

- Tiny room
- No key to the front door, you always had to leave the key in the reception when going out
- Boring street

Room Tip: We had a balconyroom, wich was great because of the small room

Remember to take your crampons and a length of rope to help you climb the stairs before you take on this hotel, No good if your not good on your legs, we was on the top floor 72 stairs to climb, So exhausted when got to the top, So beware. The reason for the high stairs are that in the past the houses was Taxed according to the width of the property so they created them high and slim hense the very steep stairs
The breakfast we found to be very poor, continental style breakfast but even the continentals found this a problem as no cereals are present and the yogharts are very cheap types poss 20 for £1 at Aldi.If you fancy dry bread with chocolate you will find this to be ok.
The room we was in was small plenty of open shelves but within the tight area we found to leave everything on the shelves it made it all very untidy so we kept everything in the cases.
Shower room and toilet are very small, when we used the shower it wet all the floor and we got out the shower dry so I cleaned the shower head to make it flow correctly, not a comfortable area.
Location very good easily walkable to all area's without any problems.
I dont think that the hotel is worth 100 Euro per night

Room Tip: Get a room on the ground floor and a large room

We loved this hotel and will be going back someday. The location is perfect, you are central to everything. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They even helped us out when we were coming back through the city, just for the day, and they let us keep our bags there while we wandered about!
The rooms are small, you certainly won't get lost in them, but there was lots of storage space, and the tiny space was used well for a mini-fridge and lots of nooks and crannies to put things in. We also had a lovely balcony and it was great to be able to head outside and people watch. They also do not steer you wrong about the stairs, if you can't climb some very steep stairs, look for somewhere else to stay. I got used to them but it was certainly a workout.
Just got back from vacation yesterday and am already dreaming of our next one, hoping we won't have to wait too long to get back to Amsterdam and the lovely Hotel Nadia!

Room Tip: Get one with a balcony, it was lovey to have the outdoor space.

We were made very welcome here. A light breakfast was available eg bread, yoghurt, crossaints, juice, coffe, tea. Very basic but a great way to get the day started. This hotel is not suitable if you are frail or informed as the stairs are very steep and there is no elevator.. The room we had 208 was VERY small. It had a combo toilet, shower and hand basin. If you are very tall you wont be able to shut the door if you are on the toilet. But the bed was comfy and clean and the Hotel Nadia was a right choice for us. The position of the hotel was great. 2 min walk to the Ann Frank museum, 15 min walk to Central station, 10 min walk to Dam square & shops. I can say that we felt safe the whole time. But our relatives whom live there did say to be aware of pickpockets but we had no problems.

Let's be clear, this place isn't bad for a young traveler or someone on a tight budget, but if you are established and can afford it, don't stay here.

The room we had was tiny and the bathroom was miniscule. The shower was separated from the sink/toilet by a curtain. I understand rooms in Europe are small, but this was very cramped.

The location was very good too.

Bottom line: Great budget hotel but not for someone who wants a nicer experience.

This was our second stay at the Nadia. Friendly helpful staff, clean, great location all in all excellent value for money. We love it!! The stairs are steep but good exercise. We will be back and can recommend this great little hotel.

This hotel is very well placed for the main attractions on offer in Amsterdam. Close to main square and interesting shops close by, Not recommended if you struggle with steep staircases, Breakfast was just right to start the day and afternoon tea is available if you wish. Staff very welcoming and bearing in mind it is a budget hotel the overall package is superb.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with balcony.
