“Lived up to all positive Tripadvisor Recommendations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2011

We stayed as a family of 5 looking for a few days near central Amsterdam. We chose "Nadia" after detailed research on Tripadvisor (guilty not having given feedback before) looking for a reasonable priced hotel with good reviews. We found that previous reviews had been correct in that the stairs up to, and within, the hotel are very steep but this is consistent with many non corporate hotels in Amsterdam The rooms were spotlessly clean and daily service was faultless. We were asked if it was ok to do room service each day as we handed our keys in. The rooms we had were perfectly adequate in size (103 double and 105 triple). There is outside noise from the surrounding area but nothing out of the ordinary for a city location. Breakfast was plentiful, if basic, and in keeping with the good value offered. The breakfast room did get busy after 9:00 am. The staff and management were extremely helpful, arranging a collection and park service for our car although we had not booked anything prior to arrival (local parking €5 an hour from 09:00 to 24:00) handling all of our luggage and storing our luggage on the last day to give us a full day in Amsterdam until our car was delivered back to the Hotel late afternoon. We even managed to borrow umbrellas on the days it rained. We recommend the Nadia to anyone looking for excellent quality budget acommodation in Amsterdam. One point to note is that the Hotel is B&B only with limited snacks from a vending machine outside breakfast hours (although tea/coffee available free all day in the breakfast room) We found some good restautants near by including the Panorama, at the end of the block (undercover all the way which was good as it rained heavily during our visit) , which was reasonable for Amsterdam (€100 two courses for 5 inc drinks) , helpful (meals split between two children with no quibble) with some of the best ribs I have tasted for a long time!

The hotel was very centrally located. The stairs were straight up and there was no elevator, but the staff were quick to bring all your luggage to your room immediately. My only complaint would be that the staff smoke and you can smell that in the hallways and sometimes through the vents into the room. Overall staff was helpful and very friendly and the morning breakfast was more than adequate. Would stay again!

Room Tip: Room was small but very clean

the service we had was great as well as the help and friendly employees making it feel like home literally with a bouget of flowers "saying welcome home"as it was our second time being ther.we will not bother trying anywhere else the next time we go to amsterdam. it was a great place to be just always give it more time than what you planned for new things will always be discovered just when you thought youve walked the place over

At first this place seems a bit of a dive, it's dated and the rooms are just ok. But then after a day you realize It's actually not that bad. The staff are VERY helpful ( they will arrange anything if you know what I mean) no doubt because they are getting kickbacks from the services they recommend, but that's business and every place/service they recommend is great. Its location is probably the best, literally a walk to everything you want to see in Amsterdam, Anne Franks museum is a few 100 meters away as is both cheap and exclusive restaurants. A bike shop next door and this is the best way to see Amsterdam, next to a canal.. Cheap, cheerful and clean would be my description. One thing, if you don't like steps or heights then watch it, getting to the reception is like climbing a fire mans ladder to the 3rd floor.

Stayed here for the first weekend in July, and would thoroughly recommend it. Easy walk to the centre, but also close to lovely peaceful canal walks, great restaurants and individual shops. Staff very welcoming (cold drink on arrival a lovely touch) and although the rooms are on the smaller side, it felt snug rather than cramped. Some beds also on smaller side, but were offered to swap on 2nd night (without requesting it) when they realised our bed might not be so comfortable for my husband, me and a baby bump!!

Clean, welcoming and very good value, would definitely stay there again...

The hotel is well located very close Anne Frank's House and Dam Square and canals. The stairs are as others have written - like climbing a mountain! But the staff are very helpful and are always on hand to carry the bags up or down. We (like another previous traveller) were generously "upgraded", which we think meant we got a canal view room - this was nice to have but did not make the room any bigger! Room fittings are pretty dated, but overall clean and convenient. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special at all. It will suit travellers on a budget. Next time we will probably spend a bit more on accommdation but try to be in the same area as it was easy to navigate from the Raadhuis Straat area.

Room Tip: Consider more than a standard room when booking (but we did not view other options - could not get s...
