When writing a review, I attempt to address questions and/or concerns I might have if I were considering a particular hotel. It is my hope that you find this one useful. Hotel De l'Europe was perfectly charming.
This year my wife and I were celebrating an important anniversary with a Rhine river cruise. Since the cruise boarded in Amsterdam, we went in search of a nice hotel where we could stay a couple days in advance of our departure. Well, we discovered and chose Hotel De l'Europe . . . and were very glad we did.
Located on a very attractive canal, Hotel De l'Europe is absolutely beautiful and we immediately felt right at home as a result of our very warm welcome. Situated in the heart of Amsterdam, the hotel is strategically positioned, rooms are beautiful, immaculately clean and the beds are very comfortable. And, for those who need to be "connected" . . . the wifi worked flawlessly.
Hotel De l'Europe is conveniently close (easy walking distance) to many of the places you might want to visit. If you want or need to stay close to the hotel, the restaurants are exceptional. Bord'Eau has been awarded two Michelin Stars. In fact, the restaurants are so popular that you sometimes need to make reservations in advance of actually arriving. So, keep that in mind when booking your trip. However, if you can't make a reservation or simply don't want to eat at the hotel, there are many, many places nearby where you can have a delicious meal.
For my wife and I, much of our enjoyment during a hotel stay and an important portion of the impression with which we are left after visiting any hotel is the service we receive while there. In the case of Hotel De l'Europe, the service simply couldn't have been better. Whomever was staffing the concierge desk booked attraction tickets and took care of every other need quickly and warmly. The main desk staff were also always very attentive and very helpful. Romy and Caroline were always very quick to help answer questions, provide directions or take care of any other need. And . . . it was always very nice to be welcomed by their warm smiles.
When back in Amsterdam, there will only be one hotel possibility for us. I hope you enjoy the same experience at De l'Europe.
