I would recommend this beautiful hotel for all sort of guests . Location is in the heart of the city, walking distance from every single spot.

Michelin star restaurant in hotel you should book in advance.

Room Tip: Higher floors for sure!

The hotel is perfectly located at the convergence of several canal routes, amid shops and restaurants, in central Amsterdam. The entire staff is knowledgeable and ready to make your stay, at the De L'Europe and in Amsterdam, memorable. Just let them know what kind of room or view you like, the sights or restaurants you want to visit, and the staff will accommodate your requests. After sightseeing during the day, we enjoyed relaxing at Freddy's hotel bar before dinner, listening to the wonderful piano player and watching the boats on the canal. Great selection of foods during breakfast. FYI. Make your reservations for the Anne Frank Museum months in advance of your visit. If you have to pay for a lecture with your entrance, even in a foreign language, just do that in order to have a guaranteed entrance time. (Lecture will not be required.) This will save you from standing in line for a long, long time. The Van Gogh Museum has an incredible collection of works (so worth visiting) but is one of the most poorly organized museum entrances I have ever visited. Even with tickets for a time, you can end up waiting in very disorganized lines for a long time. I highly recommend going first thing in the morning.

We stayed in this hotel three times. The hotel is gorgeous, very convenient to all sightseeing. Rooms are all different. We loved the Dutch Masters wing. The service is top notch. Hope to return soon.

Easter week at de l'Europe!
Everything you could expect from a 5 star hotel is there!!!
Exceptionally pleasant and profesionnal staff
From the bell boy to the front desk, room service and hotel restaurants! Really really really good during one of the busiest time of the year.
Before our travel we exchanged mails with the room department, Thank you Mrs Jacqueline for the efforts, and got a lovely room with city and canal view with balcony on the second floor
Great luxury bathroom in Carrara marble from floor to ceiling, great amenities including hand cream and lip blam, loved the details. Spacious Shower and bathtube with heated floor!!
The decor is a successfully mix of Dutch antiques and design pieces! Red, Bordeau, blue loved it.
Room service is very efficient and fast. Well presented, coming from the below brasserie! Great products!
Turn down service very pleasant keen to come back if busy with complementary mineral water.
During this Easter week end, every day had a surprise, a delicious box of chocolates, Easter bunny in prime milk chocolat! Great details
The concierge manages everything you want in no time. Thank you for the great suggestions!
Didn't have time to try the pool and Bordeau, that's for next time ;)
Flawless check out eventhough very very busy.
All in all The Place To GO in Amsterdam
Can't wait to go back!!!

Room Tip: If you can have a canal view de Luxe Room, really worth the money!!!! Above 1st floor

This is certainly one of the most famous hotels in the Netherlands, and justly so. The location is superb for visitors who want to walk to all the city's major sites and the hotel itself offers a 'gezellig' (cozy) home-away-from-home at the end of a busy day.

Entering through the front doors, one steps into the 'Promenade', a long gallery/lobby which evokes something of the glamour of a 1950's transatlantic liner and leads to the semi-circular Lounge Bar, with its tall windows looking onto the waters of the Amstel.

Our Delft blue Premium Deluxe category room (#332) overlooked both the Amstel and the famous Muntplein, with its iconic clock tower, the Munttoren (Mint Tower), dating from 1619. Though busy Amsterdam was just a stone's throw away, double-glazing on the large windows (which could be opened, if desired, for fresh air) insured a great night's sleep in the wonderfully comfortable bed. A wall of mirrored closets provided plenty of storage space.

The large Carrara marble bathroom contained both a walk-in rain shower and a separate soaking tub. Tall windows (with privacy curtains) flooded the room with light and there was an abundance of thick white towels, terry cloth robes and high-end Blaise Mautin toiletries.

A generous buffet breakfast is offered in the Hoofdstad (Capital city) Brasserie, with its banks of windows overlooking the canal and the Muntplein. This is an attractive room that would perhaps benefit in the morning from having the tables linen-draped, rather than bare.

Staff at the De l'Europe are polite, friendly and eager to be of assistance. We were treated royally by everyone we came into contact with. I want especially to thank Mr. Thomas van Noort for his kindness. This was our first stay at the De l'Europe, but certainly not our last.

Room Tip: Front-facing rooms have wonderful views of Amsterdam and the Amstel River.

I found the welcoming of the staff on the two occasions I had this month above excellence. There was something genuinely welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself is splendid and the rooms are not only comfortable but their style is chic and of good taste. It remains for me the best hotel in Amsterdam and it is a renewed pleasure to be received as a guest.

Room Tip: Choose a red room. They are superb.

this was our second stay at de l'europe and it absolutely lived up to our last visit. The staff are so helpful and kind, always available for requests. The rooms are spacious, with double sinks and large soaker tubs. We also had a small balcony but didn't get much of a chance to use it as it was cold and rainy for most of our trip. The hotel is well located and close to many tourist attractions, restaurants, shops and cafes. A visit to Freddy's bar is a must, make sure to see Gert, great guy that can recommend some local sites. The breakfast buffet and room service were delicious, I'm still dreaming of cheese. I'd absolutely recommend de l'europe to everyone.

Dear guest,

It is a pleasure to read your review following your (second) stay at De L' Europe. Your comments about the rooms, location, Freddy's Bar with its bartender Gert-Jan and the breakfast and room service are truly appreciated. Unfortunately the weather didf not cooperate this time, it being March, but perhaps next time you can visit us in spring or summer!
