“Great quality hotel, convenient location, very good value for money. You can't request more.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2011

I am writing this review in the hotel bar area, drinking a nice tea served by friendly hotel staff. I was upgraded to double room for free, without even asking. I got a room with really big window, terrace and amazing view. There is a coffee table and two chairs so I can imagine myself having a drink there (not now in late November tho). You can rely on pictures from the hotel website. It looks exactly like that - clean and with pleasant atmosphere. It is also conveniently located near all museums and big green park. Very good value for money. The taxi from the main train station cost 20 Euros. Next time I am in Amsterdam I will stay here again and I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

A very modern revamped hotel opposite Vondlepark on a very quiet street. The staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We felt right at home from the minute we arrived. The hotel is 5 min walk from the Rembrandt and Van Gogh museums. Make sure to purchase entry tickets at the hotel as this will let you bypass the very long queues. The area abounds in eateries and if you want a little longer walk, the Leidseplein is 10min away. There are always great tourist menus here and the food is good value if not spectacular. Include breakfast in the hotel as part of your booking. It is very good and includes hot and cold food.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Vondel Park

While traveling with another couple in September 2011, had our first visit to Amsterdam. We selected this hotel based on internet information and some guide book recommendations.
We were a little nervous about our impression that Amsterdam would be so loud, boisterous - maybe a bit overwhelming. This hotel was a fabulous surprise. Just across the street from
a lovely park (Vondelpark), and close to museum area, it was a great experience. There were
several good restaurants within walking distance (good recommendations from hotel staff). At the end of the block, we boarded our canal-boat tour (with discount coupon from hotel). Room was nice, with view of attractive courtyard. Was not large, but fine based on European standards. Lobby was very pleasant and comfortable. The bar area was like a friendly community at the end of the day .... the bartender / host Martin was an immediate friend, and helpful consierge as well - the friendly "face" of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was great. We would choose this hotel again if returning to Amsterdam!

Good location, central but in a quiet street - 5 mins to Leidesplein. Nice service, clean and modern hotel. Small rooms as is usually the case with hotels located in old residential buildings, but overall it is pleasant, clean and nice. My sheets were a little torn, which isn't great. Other than that - all good.

Great location (central, but quiet), near the entrance to the Vondelpark, couple of minutes walk to the Museumplain and Leidseplein. Simple walk to the city center. Shopping area, restaurants and bars are also very close to the hotel. The hotel itself is well designed with nice bar and lounge. Free internet access. Very nice, helpful and English-speaking stuff that tried to do everything to make our stay comfortable. We'll definitely return to the hotel on our next visit in Amsterdam!!!
