“Can't Wait to Go Back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Travelled with my boyfriend on the 14th November for a 2 night get away, picked the Europa92 as it was within our budget and an excellent location! I have no idea what everyone is talking about when they rate this hotel badly! Had there been 6 stars I would have given them it!

We arrived late on the Weds night and the bus stop is practically outside the hotel! We were greeted straight away by a lovely member of staff (sorry I can't remember your name!) we were given keys to room 39 and shown where to go, the stairs were a bit steep, but you will learn this is the same all over Amsterdam!! Our room as was lovely, basic but exactly what we needed just to sleep in! We had a lovely big window out over the garden area and plenty of room & cupboard space for all my clothes/shoes etc! The bathroom was small, but it had a toilet, sink, hairdryer and a lovely warm shower! The beds had the most COMFIEST PILLOWS EVER!

Never once did we see a mouse/rat/bedbug....you sometimes wonder what some people are "smoking".

Breakfast was lovely, the coffee is exactly what you need to start your day! There was lots of fruit, cereal, breads, rolls, meats and cheese! The staff were always on hand to offer advice on travel, where to go or even just to check you were having a nice day!

Would definitely return, over and over again!?!

Thanks Europa92 for making my stay in Amsterdam so comfortable!

Room Tip: Don't listen to the poor reviews!

Stayed here on 11th November 2012 with 2 family members for 3 nights. It's the 3rd time I've stayed at this hotel and won't be staying anywhere else! It's family run by Wim, Moh & Co and you couldn't meet friendlier people (even their mate Micky!). The rooms were redecorated earlier this year and are lovely. There's a lovely garden for guests to use (unusual in the Dam) and they have a lovely cat too so very homely.
Breakfast is the usual continental fare, rolls, cereal, meats, juices etc and the coffee is just what you need after a good night out!!!
Europa92 is very central, being around the corner from leidseplein square and the no 1 tram stops at the top of the road and takes you central station.
Can't wait to go back to the dam next year. I've being going for the last 16 years and its one of my favourite cities in the world as it's clean, friendly and I feel safe walking by myself even after midnight (being a woman this is a huge plus).
See you next year guys!

We had a shopping weekend with my daughter and Europa 92 was an excellent choise for that. Perfect location, friendly staff and nice, clean rooms. The traffic noice was hard! Good restaurants nearby. Lovely Amsterdam, we'll be back!

Stayed with my friend for 2 nights (12th & 13th November) in room 20 which had a double bed and a single even though we were only expecting a twin. The room was quite small which is expected in amsterdam but it was cosy rather than cramped - there was ample space for the two of us including all our clothes and toiletries :D The beds were very comfy.

Our room was very clean and we had a maid service on both days. Breakfast was simple but definitely a bonus given the bargain price of the room. I recommend the coffee and the cold cuts of meat and cheese were delicious.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, showing us the best places to go on a handy map. The location of the hotel is also ideal, just a short tram ride from central station with the nearest tram stop practically right outside the hotel (tram 1 to Osdorp de Aker from central station). Good proximity to Leidseplein and the Hard rock cafe is just around the corner - which I would also advise a trip to, though it can be pricey.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on a budget, I will definitely be returning :D

My friend and I travelled to Amsterdam Novemver 2012. What a fantastic city! Great location and helpful staff sums the place up and also if you want your body to be covered in bed bug bites....Then this is definately the hotel for you! No doubt about it. I understand there are mosquito's in Holland..... but definately not in November when temperatures are the same as the UK. My advice??? Think twice before you sleep in these beds..... I'd much rather sleep on the tram tracks than suffer from itchy, red and sore bites! I have emailed Europa hotel personally and received nothing back. STAY AWAY!

Just got back from a three night stay here with my boyfriend. We arrived early afternoon and the woman on reception was welcoming and friendly, reception area looked basic but clean, bar area looked nice, what you'd expect for a three star. We then took the lift up to our room and were shocked/disgusted by the hallways! Dirty green carpet with stains all over it, there was no bit of carpet that was stain free! The walls are pink and like the carpet, dirty, with random holes in it, wallpaper bits hanging off etc. something you'd expect if staying in a one star, two star or a hostel but not a three star! Our room looked better than the halls, except our bathroom was horrid and smelt! The hotel has a no smoking room but the halls stank of it. We bought choc bars from the hotel bar and left a bar in the bedside table draw, the next day I went to open it to find it was already open, the wrapper looked like it had been nibbled open and some of the chocolate inside had been eaten also! We tried ignoring this and not making a fuss, but that night we were awoken by a weird noise, we turned the light on and there was a rodent on our bedside table! Not sure what it was it looked like a mouse but it could've been a baby rat as we only saw it for a second or so as when we turned the light on it moved so fast, there was a hole under our bed so in guessing it was hiding in there! I was terrified, it was 5am and there was no way we could sleep knowing that was in our room! So we went to reception and they changed our room, but the receptionist made us feel like we were making it up as he had never heard of this before. But I can't seem to understand why they think we'd make this up and get up at 5 in the morning, pack and change rooms for no reason! The next day we handed our old room key in and there was a different man in reception and also a blonde man was stood at reception, who I'm guessing may have been a manager or something, as the blonde man said we would get some money back for the inconvenience. Later on, there was another man on reception so we explained what the man had said regarding getting money back and we wanted to know if anything had been done about it, and he quizzed us why we had moved room, quite aggressively, when we explained why he also made it obvious he thought we were making it up and also said he hasn't been told we are getting any money back and wasn't having any of it, asif we had made that up also! We paid for bed and breakfast but the state of the hotel and obviously the mouse/rat in the room had put us off having breakfast there so that was a waste of money! God knows how this is a 3 star the hotel is a joke and I would never go back. I advise people NOT to go to this hotel!

Room Tip: Room 21 was the one with a mouse in it!

Stayed at the Europa for 2 nights 9th & 10th November with my husband. We were on the 4th floor in Room 27 at the back of the hotel. Room was spotlessly clean, was obviously one of the re-furbished rooms, but was VERY VERY small. So small infact that you couldn't open the bathroom door properly as it hit the bed, and if one of you was stood at the end of the bed, the other couldn't walk around. On the plus side though, you could very easily fall into bed from the door - literally :-) Didn't bother us, as it was just a base for us to sleep in, and the fact that it was clean in the room was all that mattered. Beds were made daily and clean towels provided daily. Reception and Breakfast Room were also spotless, however that couldnt be said for the communal areas which were very tired and in need of a good lick of paint and some new carpet. Infact it was these points in our view that let this hotel down and seperated it from just the average hotel that it was, to an excellent hotel (which I am sure it would be had it all be refurbished). Don't let this put you off however - this hotel is excellent value for money, is ideally situated for explorting the city, and run by a very friendly team. Just don't let the communal areas put you off.
