stayed 6 nights from 19th to 24th dec - checked out Xmas morning. Cannot fault this hotel in any way. Checkin was easy and we were offered tea, coffee or water and assistance with bags/coats and then shown to our room - which we were offered an upgrade for 100 euro for the entire stay (which we accepted).
Room 801 on top floor was spacious and comfortable and had large bed, big bathroom, plenty of storage and a room safe. 2 windows also which could be opened to cool it down for sleeping at night.
Bathroom had a bath/shower which isn't my preference but it had a huge showerhead which made for a great shower.
Room had a nespresso machine with 4 pods refilled daily. Coffee, tea and water also available free of charge in hotel foyer from 7am until 11am and then again later in the afternoon.
Location of the hotel is perfect. Get tram 4 or 16 from centraal station and you within 150 metres walk of the hotel. Close to shopping, Rembrandt square, dam square, damrak, heineken experience, Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum also.
Highly recommend a nearby restaurant called roses's cantina which is Mexican themed.
Hotel rooms don't have a fridge but they do provide plenty of ice as needed in ice buckets and offer room service delivery free of charge if you order from the bar to your room.
The hotel bar is inviting and has comfortable seats in front of a fire.

The hotel is beautiful, the moment you walk in you can tell its a hotel with class!
I booked a smart city room as there wasnt any other option at the booking stage. But I didnt have the extra 45 euros to upgrade as i was on a budget as its near christmas. The photos are very misleading on here and on the hotel website as the room I had was extremely small.... Unfortuantely had 3 of the worse nights sleep as there is not enough space for 2 adults to sleep in 2 single beds pushed together to make a double. I had no room next to my side as the bed was put right up to the wall. I dont think this room [room 406] should be allowed to accomodate a couple as its extremely small and should be a storage cupboard.
Staff were brilliant, couldnt of been more helpful! The location of the hotel is also brilliant to get around and site see!

Room Tip: Dont book a smart room unless your a solo traveller. they are no were near as spacious as the photos...

We really enjoyed our stay. The service was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a room with a balcony with wonderful view of the city. Comfy bed and clean and nice shower. I would certainly come back on my next trip to amsterdam

The Albus was ideally located to walk to all areas of the city. The reception was very pleasant, complimentary coffee on arrival and a quick guided tour of the room. Bed very comfortable, huge pillows and two best nights sleep for a long time. TV with various channels, free WiFi and Nespresso in room. Our break was to celebrate my 50th Birthday but there was a mix up. ½ hour after checking in, there was a knock at the door. Receptionist (all were extremely polite and professional) brought us a mini bottle of prosecco and selection of chocolate deserts to celebrate our honeymoon. After explaining the purpose of our visit, we had a chuckle and were left with deserts and drink . The following day we returned from shopping to find a further bottle of prosecco on ice in our room with a Birthday Card. The hotel staff were without exception the most helpful and friendly I have experienced. Would heartily recommend the Albus to anyone and will return if we visit Amsterdam again..

Room Tip: We chose a superior suite room I think, it had a couple of modern leather sofa/seats hence a slightl...

The Albus is a nice hotel, clean, very good service, very friendly with an excellent location.

Room was good, comfortable bed, clean, good heating, very comfortable. Only complaint is the bathroom is a bit old and could use some minor maintenance, and there was a funny smell on the hall outside the room. Nothing to complain about. Aside from that everything was great. Our experience was excellent. The staff were very friendly and very helpful!

I'd definitely stay again there.

Had an amazing stay at the Albus! The staff were here to help as soon as we arrived, explaining the directions of the museums we were interested in. The rooms are beautiful and clean with no noise at night! Had a great nights sleep every night. I'll definitely be staying here again. The breakfast is brilliant with great value for money. A 15 minute walk into Dam Square but a nice stroll with lots to see, everything is within walking distance.
