The Albus was a great hotel in a great location with a great staff! It was right in the center of Amsterdam within walking distance to everything. Sophia and Mariska were wonderful! Very nice and very helpful! The next time I return to Amsterdam, I will defintely stay at The Albus!

We spent 3 nights at the hotel from the 17th-20th December and had a fantastic stay. Staff were friendly and very helpful from the moment we entered the hotel; marking the sites, shopping and food areas on a city map for us.

We stayed in a Splendid City Room and was one of the largest rooms we stayed in during our 5 week trip. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable (this coming from someone who often travels with her own pillow!). We did find the room temperature a little hot and had some difficulty working the heating/air conditioning system in the room; but this was only an issue for 1 of the 3 nights of our stay. We had a front room which was mostly quiet, however morning traffic noises could be heard from about 5.30/6.00. The bathroom was also a great size with a very large shower with fantastic shower head and great hairdryer! The rooms also offered complimentary wi-fi, Nespresso machine and bottles of water which were replaced daily.

The hotel itself was in good condition and was being repainted during our stay. The lift was a good size, but we often found it slow in reaching our room and took the stairs rather than waiting on a few occasions. On one day during our stay the lobby seemed to smell of sewerage and we found the hallway outside our room also had a smell and housekeeping had left the windows in our room open. Luckily the smell did not carry into our rooms.

The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect! It was within walking distance of Dam square, Anne Frank House and Central station. The attractions further away, such as Van Gogh Museum were easily accessed via the Tram with the closest stop about 100m from the hotel.

Would definitely recommend to family and friends in the future!

We loved the location and the staff were extremely helpful. They gave useful advice and were always willing to answer any queries. We had a room on the first floor overlooking the main road, and did struggle to sleep the first night with the traffic noises, but we live in a very rural location at home so this was very different for us. However there were earplugs provided. Loved the coffee available in reception and the complimentary drink at the bar whether you eat there or not. All staff really friendly. Well done!!

We visit Amsterdam twice a year and each time stay at a different hotel, looking for that elusive great find. I think we have found it.

This hotel offers everything we have been looking for: excellent location, great room size and comfort, friendly service and the most amazing restaurant (Senses) - a must!

We spent a week at the Albus and cannot fault a thing. Oh - and we loved - and abused :) - the complimentary coffee station in reception.

I have stayed at the Albus twice now, and both visits have been superb. The hotel is very nicely decorated, perfectly clean, well located, comfortable (including obscenely comfy beds) and has very helpful and friendly staff. What's more, the price is very reasonable indeed. The location is also perfect. Very highly recommended. My only negative comment is that the internet is a bit slow and inconsistent.
