We enjoyed our stay very much.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
Room 605 was very comfortable and had a nice balcony. We heard people complain about bad smell and noise in their room, but the staff was attentive and offered them new rooms.
There is no air conditioner in all the rooms of the hotel, so you should ask for a quiet room, so you can open the window at night.
The location of the hotel is great! Close to everything, quiet, plenty of places to eat nearby and the neighborhood is good (unlike the center).

4 days at the Albus. We were a little perturbed when given a room on the basement level. However, the room was large with a king and single bed and ample space to move around. The nespreso machine in the room and marshmallows in the reception area were a nice touch. Carpet in the room, had a few stains and the bathroom could do with a bit of an update. A great position to explore Amsterdam with restaurants, cafes, bars and bike rental around the corner. Mel, Dhiren, Sahil.

The hotel is very centrally located and although around the corner from Rembrandtplein, relatively quiet. Perfect to wander along the canals, & both Museumplein and into the busy centre easy walking distance. The room wasn't huge (we had the splendid city king room) but spacious enough for a city centre hotel & the bed extremely comfy! Great sized bathroom as well. The staff were always happy to help.We would go back on any future trip to Amsterdam.

Booked as a 'secret hotel' with lastminute.com and we were not disappointed. Great location, 2 mins walk to nearest tram stop and 10 mins on tram to Central Station. Staff friendly and welcoming on arrival. We liked the fact that this isn't one of those massive souless hotel chains but is big enough to have all facilities you'd expect. Room was a little cramped but very comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom. We stayed over warm weekend in July so lack of air conditioning in room may put some people off but our room was at back of the hotel overlooking quiet courtyard so open window with fan was all the cooling we needed.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back will be quiter, especially in warmer months when windows may need to be open

Hotel is really well centered, 1 minute walk from Rembrandstplein (bars), and its Tramway lines. Hotel is really clean, rooms are well designed, with a Nespresso coffee machine and a Bubu stool designed by Starck. Desk is smiling and helping.

I have been at the Albus a couple of times by now, and really like the atmosphere, the design and the people.

The food is great, the rooms are elegant, but what really made me come back and will make me come back again is the great service, and what seems like truly authentic friendliness

There are many hotels to choose from in Amsterdam. I wanted a 4 or 5 star with a modern trendy look and definitely wanted to be in the vicinity of the canal area close to the " negen straatjes" which in my view is the nicest area of Amsterdam. The 5 star hotels in that area were too expensive ( 275 euro and above per night) and the Albus hotel was the perfect pick. Checking in was a bit slow due to the fact thatthere was only one person at the desk who needed to answer the phone as well. However the service attitude was good, especially for Dutch standards. We were upgraded to a suite.
The suite was nicely decorated with a fresh and modern look. Wooden flooring is definitely my preference for hotel rooms for hygiene purposes, but also because it gives it a fresher stylish look.
The bathroom was certainly ok, eventhough use of slightly more expensive materials would have given the bathroom a more premium look, which would have had a betterfit with the rest of the room. The bed was comfortable. Mini bar would have been appreciated, but the hotel did provide 2 free of charge bottles of water. The room was very quiet, which is good considering its central location.

Room Tip: If you would like a quiet room go for the smaller rooms in the back or the more expensive city suite...
