“Perfect city break base”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Casa 400 is modern, bright and airy and very close to the heart of Amsterdam, via Amstel station (the metro ride is a mere 5-10 minutes, depending on exactly where you wish to get off). We stayed for 3 nights and felt it was really value for money. Affordable, clean and comfortable rooms; very kind and efficient staff - WIFI is free in the hotel, there is also an internet point which guests may use free of charge in the lobby and bikes can be rented from the hotel as well. Warmly recommended!

We really liked it, coisy and charming. It's a big hotel with nice and comfortable rooms, very well organized. We can't wait to go back there and visit again amsterdam. what a wonderful city. it's not in the proper city centre, but it's very well linked to the centre through train and metro and it takes only 10 minutes, 5 by bike...

Casa 400 is a very nice hotel. Comfortable rooms with good sized and very clean bathrooms. I particularly liked the little coffee maker and the in-room refrigerator.
I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was convenient and worth the money. (E12.50/day if you pay ahead)
The hotel is located a bit far from the city center, but it's one block from Amstel Station on the metro. Also the #12 Tram is one block away. You're only 2 blocks from the Amstel River where I found some great local restaurants including world class Vandemarkt which is a must for a romantic dinner with an incredible wine list. Shy, the owner was very attentive & a really nice guy. (ask for a tour of the wine cellar, he'll be glad to show it!)

Room Tip: I had a room on the adjacent canal, with the little window closed it was quiet. If I left it open I...

The room was large and modern. Not very luxurious, but the bed was excellent. There was construction work outside at the time we stayed, but the hotel supplied us with complementary earplugs, so it wasn't a problem. The price was reasonable, a good find comparing to other hotels in Amsterdam.

We decided to stay in late one morning, and expected that our room wouldn't be cleaned - especially since the cleaners had walked past our room when we left. As a nice surprise the room was clean when we returned anyway.

The area around the hotel seems like a business park, and has little to offer to tourists. Fortunately it's close to the metro, and therefore a nice place to stay when exploring the city.

This hotel is perfect for the price it charges. For 69 euros (including taxes bvut excluding breakfast) one gets a very nice room with a big bed, flat panel TV and best of all....an empty refrigerator so that you can stock whatever you want in it. The room also has a kettle with complimentary tea/coffee powder so that you can have your morning tea in bed. The staff were extremely friendly. Unlike other hotels, internet is free! It is a bit out of the city center but there the train/metro station is just 50m away and its a direct line to the city center (4-5 stops away). I'd definitely stay here again if I come to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Nothing really to see so a room on a ''higher floor'' doesnt really give you any add...

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at Casa 400 in July 2012. We wanted to explore Amsterdam, see the sights, eat the food, meet the people. Casa 400 is located a good distance from the tourist centre of Amsterdam which suited us fine as we did not want to be in the middle of the action. Having seen hundreds of tourist lugging their suitcases around in the city only made us appreciate our choice even more.
There is good access to the city with public transport, although we chose to walk in order to experience our objectives mentioned above. About an hour's brisk walk takes you to the centre of town, and there are plenty of opportunity to bail out and take tram along the way.
We didn't eat at the hotel so we cannot comment on the food. But having eaten at various places in town we both felt that the hotel breakfast is hugely overpriced.
The room was clean and very functional and suited us just fine. The hotel is very modern with climate control, fridge and safe in the room, as well as good quality wifi. The hotel is a business traveller type of hotel, but for the tourist who plans to spend all day away from the hotel it is perfect too.

i stayed in Hotel casa 400 recently in July with my husband for 3 nights on my vacations to europe.i must say the hotel is reasonably priced and quite modern. The rooms are neat and clean. You don't get a minibar or a hair dryer thou. Infact their is no room service extension available on the telephone set. Its just too basic.
Its near the amstel station which is 10 mins away from the central station on train. The amstel station itself is at a 7-9 mins walk from the hotel. You can go to central by taking metro or a tram which is nearby.
The staff is quite helpful and pleasant. The added advantage of staying here is the facility of free wifi everywhere even in the rooms. Their is a halal doner kebab shop right next to the hotel.
Overall its a good choice if you are looking for a reasonably priced nice accommodation.

Room Tip: Get a room with a window opening towards either on the front or the spacious area on one side so tha...
