“Not really geared to business and as a leisure hotel it's a little far out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

While the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the reasonably frequent trams, it was a little too far out from the city centre for our liking.

It is in a nice location, with shops, restaurants and bars situated within 500 metres. The twin room was a little bit small for two, though adequate for one. Thank goodness for the (small) lift as the stairs were steep. The breakfasts (€16.50 a head) were typical Dutch fare, and after the first day we chose to go to a cafe round the corner instead, where we got a better breakfast for much less.

If I had been staying here for business I would have been annoyed by:-
1) The lack of powerpoints for laptops etc. at the rather small desk.
2) Wi-fi was free for basic internet connectivity, but not free if you wanted to use it for large files/videos
3) The safe is not big enough for a 13" screen laptop.

Overall we had a perfectly comfortable stay, but would perhaps try somewhere a little closer to the City Centre next time.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet and you can comfortably leave the windows open at night without bei...

The hotel is on a lovely leafy street in the Old South near the museum quarter, just down the road from a tram stop that reguarly runs between the Zuid station (for access to the Airport) and Central Station. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The rooms were slightly on the small size as mentioned in other reviews, however they were not in my opinion too small- our room was more than adequate, well appointed with a lovely bathroom and a nice view over the courtyard.
If you're looking for something in a quiet location this hotel is highly recommended!

Nice hotel but too far from the heart of the city. Wi fi is not free, strange for a 4 star hotel.
Bed confortable but with a separation in the middle...not really nice for couples.
Not expansive because of a special offer.
Good for a business trip but not for a romantic week end.

Our 3 night stay was very uncomfortable, bed and room way too small for what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. I'd not stay here again and advice you to pick a different place if you can.

Oh, important ps. The free internet is limited to 256kbps (ancient speed) unless you pay, same for free tv channels, not even bbc 1.. you had to pay for that...

I highly recommend this hotel for people looking for quiet, its located in very calm street where no tram passing through, however its very close to the tram station around 2 minutes walking where you can easily take tram no16 and go to dame square, it's 15 minutes walking from Rai which is very good for people coming for exhibitions, it has no good scenery, and the rooms is very small, but for one person will be ok
