“If you want an inexpensive but clean and friendlymodern hotel this is the one for you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

You can get anywhere in the city walking or by tram - buy a card that lets you use the buses metro or trams. Loads of sightseeing - we've been twice now and have always found somewhere new.
The hotel is very, very helpful, the staff lovely. They will give you advice, directions or book tours for you if you wish. Breakfasts are nice - cheeses, yogarts, cooked choices (which are always very hot - no luke warm eggs). There is a locked luggage store for your last day. Beds very comfortable and they made no quarms about me having an extra three pillows!

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room. If you pay Euro 20 more you can apparently have a slightly larger room o...

The hotel is located some 10 minutes walk from the Amsterdam Central Station and also the old city center.
Basically any direction you go you're in the city center in some 10 minutes. The Waterlooplein subway station is some 5 minutes away. There are some 2-3 small stores nearby.

The rooms are ok except maybe the bathroom door closing system witch is quite noisy, disturbing at night. Also, no minibar available witch not quite ok.

In all, quite satisfied with the choice we've made....

Room Tip: try to get a room with a view towards the water channel, it's quite nice.

We stayed here for my birthday last year, so decided to book direct with the hotel online. Booked and paid well ahead of planned holiday and got a very good rate for Bed & Breakfast. The staff were all very good and friendly. We were offered an upgrade for tea/coffee and water in the room. We accepted. Although my husband thought the twenty euro a day for the privelage was a bit steep. Breakfasts were good, hot and cold options available. Also used the bar most evenings, which was pleasant and bar staff very chatty. Would recommend this hotel, it is in a convenient location and easy to get around on the trams. Also within easy walking distance of Dam Square.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

Just returned from a 4 night break. We stayed in a upgraded room, it was bigger than the standard sized room with tea/coffee making facility. It came with a nice view of the canal's. The bathroom was a bit smelly with a damp smell but after leaving the light on the fan helped to reduce it. The bedroom is basic with no frills everything functional, quite big decent telly with channels for every nationality. The bed is not the best and the pillow is one of the worst I've ever slept on but if you like very soft pillows it's for you. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice for everyone. Overall nice hotel very nice staff but a typical budget hotel. If it's you first time in Amsterdam and have an app phone a great app is called a Ulmon Amsterdam it will take you all around the town and you can never get lost as it tells you where you are and works offline and it's free to download better than a map.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights in November and were not disappointed. It was a good and clean hotel in a very good location only a short walk from the centre of Amsterdam and also a short walk from the train station making it nice and easy to get from the airport. We looked at lots of different hotels before booking this one and this had good reviews and was also good value for money. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you need except for tea and coffee making facilities which would have been nice. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of hot and cold food and drink. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

I had a bit of a problem with a cancelled flight and Ibis were very helpful in reorganising my trip. The room was clean, warm, and the bed was big and comfy. The TV worked, as did the free wifi. The staff were very nice and helpful. The location is a 10 minute walk to Dam square, not bad at all.
