“Lovely Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

All I wanted was somewhere which was clean and a bed for the weekend as I was meeting friends on a stag night.
The hotel is in a excellent location.
Ibis is renowned for it's basic concept.
The breakfast was ok and service is good.

I have to say I was very disappointed with our stay here and I don't often feel that way. Having a read a lot of the reviews I wasn't expecting luxury but I hadn't been prepared for having so little space and dodgy wifi. Firstly check in took a very long time. We were early and expecting to dump out bags and return and though we were given our room before 2pm this was after we were ignored by several members of staff on reception for quite some time.

The good points were the location, comfortable bed and large safe, which easily stored my laptop and the hotel was clean, but that was about it. The room was so small we had nowhere to put our bags, I had to apply my makeup sitting on the bed as there was no where else, it was very noisy, we didn't feel the windows offered much in the way of protection for the high volumes of traffic and train noise. I really cannot say how disappointed we were with our stay, I've stayed in Ibis hotels in the past had felt they offered clean, basic accommodation but we felt claustrophobic in the room and the shower room was even worse. There is nothing in the way of soundproofing in the rooms either, if traveling with someone this could be awkward. Perhaps it works for people who are here for one night and just need something basic but for a 3 night stay it could not have been more uncomfortable. I would look at alternative next time.

Hotel located in perfect area, just besides central station and only 700m away from Dam Square, RL district etc. But room is so small, dusty bed is uncomfy plus cleaning guy never doing their job correctly. So If you're looking for a comfy hotel, this is obviously big No!! But if you're looking for good access and locations, this one is hard to compete. FYI i paid US$300 for this 12m2 rooms.

Stopped in this hotel for a long weekend in May.
Right next door to Central station.
Immaculate room.
Bathroom was very small but plenty of hot water.
Check out was 12 o clock and we were allowed to leave luggage in secure room until we needed to collect it.
I would stay here again.

This hotel has a great hotel to stay in amsterdam if youre there to party n have a good time while looking to go back to somewhere slightly quieter. It is neither right smack in the center where the dam square is nor far away from anything. It is probably 10 minute walk away from the center. The rooms were spotless clean and comfortable. The only negative thing about the room was the bathroom was like an airplane bathroom, small and compact.
