“Convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Located beside Centraal Station, this hotel is quick and easy to access if you are entering Amsterdam via train. Check-in was seamless and staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very very small, no tea/coffee facilities in the room but there was a coin operated machine in the lobby. I have stayed at smaller facilities in the past that provide coffee in the lobby for free to guests so having to make sure I had 2 Euro for a coffee I felt was rather desperate by the Ibis.
My room was on the 9th floor and had a lovely view of the river, this was arguably the best part of the room. The bed was rather uncomfortable but the room was very clean. The free internet was good. As well the soundproofing was fine. I would only recommend this hotel for very short stays.

Room Tip: Higher floors, looking out over the river offer nice views.

Good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but basic. They had a safe in the room. No tea/coffee making facilities in room but could be bought from a vending machine in reception. Would stay again.

I travel a lot across the world and this was by far the worst hotel I have stayed in- the trains go outside the window all night, super thin walls (you can hear if you neighbour "gets lucky" or has digestive issues), uncomfortable beds, no decent facility to work in the room, no mini bar or ironing board, horrible coffee, strange characters in the lobby...
The price was way to high for the services and quality received. I was booked for two nights, left after first one and will never go back.

Dear Emilija V,

Thank you for writing a review on Tripadvisor.

I'm sorry to hear our hotel didn't meet up to your expectations. Your review actually quite surprised me. Normally the soundproofing of the rooms and windows are experienced to be very good. Also the comments we reeceive concerning the Ibis Sweet Bed are usually very positive.

Being a three star product, we indeed don't offer a minibar in the room. An ironing board however can be borrowed at the reception.

Should you be looking for a hotel offering more facilities and amenities, you can always look for some of our other hotel brands. We also offer four and five star hotels in the city centre or close to the centre. They will be able to provide you with more space to do business and other facilities you might need during your stay.

I do thank you for your feedback which is most valuable to us. Hopefully one of our other hotel brands can welcome you in the future.

Best regards,
Dennis Rullens

Located adjacent to the central train station and walkable to most attractions in town. Even though trains pass adjacent and under the hotel, the noise level is almost non-existent due to double pain windows. Rooms are clean and wi-fi was good. My only minor complaint is that the bar/cafe posted hours of opening are inconsistent - 4:30 in some places and 6PM in others; I was there at 5:55 one night and was totally ignored by staff, although one customer had a beer already.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms facing the river offer a great view.

Stayed for thee nights over Easter weekend. Great location and so very close to trains trams and buses. Fairly small room, we were on the sixth floor with a great view. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, there is however, a vending machine in reception, the drinks are €2. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom if it saves anyone taking one along like me, you are also provided with hand soap and shower gel.

On the 4th of March, my friends and I went for a 5 day trip to Amsterdam. We stayed at Ibis Amsterdam Central which I truly recommend. It is a very central hotel, just 1 minute away from the central train station. No noise can be heard from the room and from the hotel itself. Free wifi is available with a very good signal. We were located a room on the 5th floor and had a beautiful view of the canal. The shower room was really nice and comfortable.
The room wasn't very big but was comfortable enough. The staff were really helpful and friendly.
I hope to go back to this wonderful country in the near future and I will definitely stay in this hotel again.
Well done! Keep up the good work!
