The Hotel Heemskerk offers great value! It's in an Art Deco building from the 1920's a five-minute walk to all the museums in the Museum District, and very close to public transportation if you need it. Rooms are small, but very clean, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast is adequate.

It's Bed&Breakfast style. This is the great deal to travel in Amsterdam. If you are budget traveller, but yon want a comfortable bedroom, non-smoker. Please stay there. I had the graden view in my room, very quiet. Lovely breakfast room. And hotel owner and his staffs more than friendly and helpful. It just behind the concert hall and museumpark just cross the road. And the Vondelpark just 5-10mins walk. One of the traditional local bar just opposite of the hotel, very cosy you could meet lot of people and know more about Holland.

We really enjoyed our stay in this super little hotel. We loved the art deco furnishings. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an excellent quiet location.

We had a wonderful stay at the Heemskerk, starting with a warm welcome from Norman Heemskerk, who runs the hotel. Because it is so small (nine rooms) and so personal, the Heemskerk it felt a bit like staying in someone's private home: when it was raining out, Norman was quick to offer the umbrellas sitting in the front hall. The stairs are steep and the rooms are small, but the view (out onto the gardens in back of the concert hall) was lovely. And the location is spectacular, in a quiet residential neighborhood just across from the museumplein, and an easy walk to the bustling Leidseplein, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, the Vondelpark, or most any of the downtown sights.
