Stayed here for one night on a quick visit to Amsterdam. Right in the city centre, easy walking distance to all the sights and shops. Plus a tram stop on the corner if you didnt want to walk. The hotel itself isn't the ritz, but the beds are comfy and its pretty central. Perfect for a cheap and easy base.

this place looks good from the lobby but dont let that fool you the rooms are horrible, small uncomfortable and a twin is just a double cos the headboard has two side tables that cant be removed so you have to move the beds across the room and we paid 600 pounds for 5 nights for a twin and got this double room with two beds and to top it all off when we left 6 days after getting back from amsterdam the hotel had the audasity to charge us 35 pounds for cleaning charges even tho we cleaned the room are selves before we left to avoid any such charges but to no avail the just went ahead and took the money from my account DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS U WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF stay at the hotel prins hendrik opposit centraal station far better hotel never had a problem there. and also the hidden city tax is a killer when we got to the best western we were expecting to pay 748 euros but the tax had to be added when we left the added 37.50 eur and also asked us for a 1000 euro deposit i told em what they could do with that. i cant stress it enough DO NOT STAY HERE infact steer clear of the best western hotels completely.

Well, we were also amongst those who were completely discouraged by the prior comments about the Best Westerd Eden Amsterdam Hotel on Tripadvisor. However, we have been positively suprised by the rooms & wc's which were big enough and clean. However, the lighting inside the room was poor and they could seriously do something about the sound insulation problem as it was clearly a minus.(though it was not so much disturbing as we thought it would be)

On top of that the hotel was, yes, very central and the reception desk people did not give us any hard time. As there are thousands of cafes around in the city of Amsterdam, we preferred to skip the breakfast in the hotel.

I'd say, one would not be so much dissapointed from a 3 Star hotel like B.Western Eden.

If you are on a budget, don't want the red light district and can get a room at a reduced rate, I paid 65 Euros a night, this is an okay choice. I would not pay full rate. Sure the rooms are small, but clean, and the breakfast is not worth the 15 Euros they charge, but you are staying in a great location on one of the main canals, 2 mins from the subway, and steps from Rembrantsplein. I got four different answers from four different staff about why wireless internet wouldn't work in the hotel until the concierge told me to use the network in the hotel next door.
