“Nice price, awesome location, great rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

The location is perfect, just a few steps form Rembrandtplein and near every spot you will like to visit probably if it's your first time in Amsterdam (30min walking to Museumplein, Jordaan (Anne Frank's House), Centrum (Red Light too), and De Pijp or Oud Zuid).

We got the 435 room which was great! double bed and plenty of space. Clean, and everything as it should be (two bulbs weren't working but as each side had two lamps we didn't missed it), the staff was really helpful and gave us a great stay.

We didn't took the breakfast, so I can't advice about the quality but guess it's nice as it's a continental buffet, anyway book with it already or it will cost like 18€ p.p. if you want to take it there.

Quaint and so old but with very nice rooms, great service and the absolute best location in Amsterdam. Around the back street is Rembrandstrasse square best place for meals and breakfasts and for "hanging out". Out your front window is the canals and the tour boats are 50 metres away. Prices are great and service is really good except the airport shuttle driver didnt know which hotel to take us to (apparently there are two Edens there)
Best hotel for budget travellers and for those needing to immerse themselves in the real Amsterdam

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a high room right at the front for the view out your window

Just got back from a 4 day trip, booked as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday Couldn't of had a more perfect time!! Hotel clean, modern, tidy, breakfast till 10.30 week days and 11 weekends! Got to hotel early had requested early check in if possible and got an upgraded to the Hampshire hotel based at back of the building. Perfect location within walking distance to most attractions , the front of the building leads you to beautiful canals and the back to the hustle and bustle of picture perfect Rembrandt square, we just loved it!! Full mini bar in room which actually wasn't anymore than bar prices, perfect for pre dinner drink while getting ready for night out.
Staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble, would definitely return and have been recommending to all our friends!

I researched our hotels for our European Trip so was disappointed about the Eden Hotel.

The Foyer is lovely and we thought wow this is a gorgeous hotel! Wrong we were. Our room was small which we weren't too bothered about as we'd stayed in smaller. But the bath was ridiculously small and had mould all along the base and around the bath.

I called the reception and they were not very helpful they appeared to be used to people calling with this issue. They responded saying 'it is a 3 star hotel?' Basically what did you expext! I've stayed in a few 2 & 3 star hotels/hostels and never had mould or the bad attitude by the staff.

They finally agreed to move us to another room not only was this room also mouldy but we had to check out by 12pm and then check back in at 3pm which was annoying. Plus we asked for coffee making facilities which we paid extra for but had to ask three times each time being questioned by the staff about the additional cost. Just for a jug and sachets of tea and coffee!!

This hotel could be a great hotel by simply taking care to hygenically clean it's rooms, offering tea and coffee making facilities as standard in rooms and most importantly training the staff to be more customer friendly.

We booked quite late through a discounted website so were reserved about the quality of the hotel. We arrived early in Amsterdam so decided to walk from the main train station, although it is a good walk, it was manageable as we had very little luggage and stopped off en route for refreshments. The location was good for walking round to the Bloemenmarkt and Rembrandtplein. The front of the hotel belies the modern interior and the reception staff were very attentive and dealt with our booking efficiently. We had a prior request for two rooms together as there was a single elderly lady travelling, this request wasn't met. The room itself was moderate and presented well. A couple of strands of hair in the cosy shower and plastic bottle lid under the table meant that it didn't feel 'spotless'. The room was 'without a view' as the window was about 3 metres from a sheer wall. The double bed was positioned flush against the wall - one of my pet hates as one person has to clamber over the other or slide to the foot of the bed if a visit to the loo is needed during the night. Maybe it was a sign of the discounted price we'd paid - but as they say - you get what you pay for. Looks nice but ..not quite hitting the mark.

Room Tip: Request a bed that is accessible from both sides - if you prefer not to roll into a wall.

Late arrival to this hotel where I had booked a single std room (20 sqm). When I get to the room, big shock as it was probably the smallest room I had ever been seen, roughly 9 sqm. Back to the front desk it seems the larger rooms were all occupied (looks like a clear overbooking policy) and that only tomorrow I could be moved. Next day I am moved to a slightly larger room (12 sqm) but again inferior to what was booked. Last day I was expecting some sort of compensation when paying (the first night I paid almost 200€ for the tiny room!) but the answer at the reception was pathetic, the woman even resorted to lie and said they did not advertise any size for the rooms, which is absolutely false. Except the tiny one, the rest are advertised with, of course, different prices.

Writing a formal complaint later on did not trigger anything to convince me this was a terrible error or negligence. They seem to know what they do: rip you off.
