“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

My first impression of this hotel is location - superb. Just a short walk to reach museums and 2 main trams. Otherwise, it easy to look for some local restaurants, fruit...etc. Staff from this hotel is super friendly and welcoming always ask to help us something. Room square is reasonable and nice decor. I required a double bed, they put 2 single beds together made us uncomfortable with a sheet. Aircon did not work in my first day, it was fixed after 3 times helping from staff. The exchange rates of this hotel was really poor, much lower than bank rate. Generally, location and staff of this hotel gave us a pleasant stay for 4 nights but I couldn't give high appreciate for service.

Room Tip: Make sure your double bed is real double - not 2 beds pushed together. Gym is next door of this hote...

This is a very well located hotel. Near all the museums, easy access to trams to visit other parts of the city and with some lovely local restaurants nearby (en route to Vondel Park). We decided that the breakfast offered was too expensive,so we dined out every morning. I would definitely recommend the Le Pain Quotidienne for breakfast(only 5 minutes away from the hotel).

The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable - the beds are lovely.

There is also a bus stop outside the hotel where you can catch the 197 bus to the airport - cheap and handy!!

This hotel is perfectly placed to explore Amsterdam. We bought an IAmsterdam card which enabled us to travel throughout the city and gave 'free' and cheap entry into all of the major attractions, hotel close to all transport connections and bikes available. Breakfast was fine and a courtyard in process of being added to the breakfast area. Beds and room comfortable with all requirements. Air conditioner was not quite powerful enough on a hot summer's night and opening windows brought in too much traffic noise.

The rudest receptionist I've ever met. The first ting she did was to start an argument with us, if we had booked a room with space for our two children, which we had. It ruined our stay at this hotel. Good location, but bad beds and expensive breakfast.

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The only problem we had was the temperature. We stayed in late July and there was no air conditioning or fan in our room. The room faced the courtyard so there was no breeze through the windows either which made the temp in the upper 80's with 95% humidity.

Room Tip: If you book for the summer, request on of the few a/c rooms

A great hotel to explore Amsterdam you can walk to the central area but the trams take you pretty much everywhere. An unlimited 24hr tram/bus/metro is 7 euro. Hotel is comfy, large rooms & bathroom and all done with a 'green' approach. Bed was large and comfy. Reception staff were really helpful.

I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2013, and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room I had was also a very good size (unlike most of the ones you get in the UK!)

The outdoor area at the back of the hotel was being redone, so it wasn't possible to have breakfast out there, but when it's finished, it'll be lovely in summer out on the deck. Only criticism of the hotel was lack of air-conditioning. Note also that you usually have to pay upfront as well, rather than when you check out. Overall, I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Room Tip: If staying over a hot period, request a room facing the rear of the hotel: since the rooms don't...
