“Effective service, super breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2011

The hotel is a short walk from Dam Square and situated in what we found to be a quiet street. Our booking request for a first floor room in the North building had been noted and the room was sufficiently spacious, well maintained, very clean and quiet. The breakfast for two was offered at 35 Euros and we found this to be excellent given the range of good quality food. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful and courteous. Both the check in and checkout were dealt with helpfully. The hotel has a health club and a dry sauna which were gratis. Overall, a very enjioyable and relaxing stay.

The hotel is beautiful & we felt special from the minute we arrived. We upgraded the room to an executive room (suite) & this included everything in the minibar. We stayed for 2 nights & the bar was fully replenished free again for the second night. Bed was very big & comfortable. Also had free moves on the 2 tv's in the spacious room. One afternoon when we returned to the room some of the sockets were not working. One phone call & these were checked and fixed in minutes. Very clean with well stocked toiletries. The bathroom was looking tired but functioned fine.
We had breakfast included both days. This was a very wide choice of great quality buffet style hot & cold food (including chilled Prosecco) We ate there one eveing. The food was excellently presented & tasted good. We only had the burger & a chicken ceasar salad but there were more expensive choices available. We found it hard to find other restaurants in the city that served high quality food. Most catered for fast food or cheap pizza & pasta. Again service was very good.
TIP. there are fortune cookies in baskets on reception. we each had one & they each contained a voucher giving a free glass of wine with our meal.
I would definately stay in a Radisson Blu hotel again, but one trkip to Amsterdam is enough. It caters for groups of people rather than couples & once you've seen it you don't need to go back. The canal boat trip was lovely, but the shops were repetitve & down market. Full of tourist rubbish. The city is quite run down, tacky & dirty.

Firstly I never get upgraded so the fact that I did here was extremely satisfying and may put a rose coloured tint on my review!
Rooms are clean and our's was quite spacious. It's on a quiet street set pretty much mid way between the red-light district and the Amstel river, though you wouldn't know it was near the former. We didn't eat there, for breakfast try turning left out of the hotel, turn right and then go over the iron bridge on the left, there are a couple of cafes down there. No real niggles apart from the cost of room service which was extortionate

This was our first trip to Amsterdam, we went from Friday to Tuesday. After arriving at the airport we got a train to Central station. We got a taxi to our hotel which was 10 euro/ It was a short journey to the hotel and the taxi driver was very good at pointing out different things to see. We arrived at the hotel and checked in. The reception is absaloutly gorgeous and very unusual it has all the rooms facing onto it with different seating areas and waterfall and hotel bar. we got the lift up to our room and were very pleased with it. It was nice and spacious with a huge bed, seat, desk, minibar. tv etc. The bathroom was good size too with a power shower and bath. the room was exceptionally clean and was cleaned every day during our stay. The room also had a safe which was at no additional charge. This was excellent as you could keep all your valuables in there and not worry. We didnt eat in the hotel as it was not part of the booking and we wanted to eat out. The bar was lovely and reasonably priced except for the cocktails which were about 14euro!!
Hotel staff were very helpful and recommending places to visit.

The hotel was situated in Rusland and was on a quiet road there was therfore no noise at night. It was in walking distance of everything, although there are trams, buses & water taxis if you want to use them. We walked everywhere as it was nice to see the city and nothing was too far away. The dam square is 5mins walk, Rembrandt square also 5-10mins walk. Leidsplein was about 15-20mins, red light district is 10mins walk.. We walked to Anne Frank Museum which was really good and a must see if you havent been before.

We didnnt do a lot of tourist things went to bars & coffee shops.
Sex museum was good:-) Would reccommend the Rockery Coffee shop & Bulldog pub & Amstel 54 bar.

All in fantastic long weekend, hotel was lovely couldnt have asked for any more.
Will go back to this hotel for sure!!

Good hotel with excellent location. From outside it looks like a small scale of 4* hotel but it is huge inside with an airy atrium.

The room itself is old and need some refurbishment. Bathroom is good, with heating floor. But again it needs a face lift.

If you can get a good price this hotel is not a bad choice, however I won't rush back.

Hotel is located in a quiet area of the centre of Amsterdam well away from any nightlife for noise to be am issue yet the hotel is superbly located so you are never too far from the action. Hotel is currently under a renovation process at the moment, you can pay extra to upgrade at check in but we chose to stay with the original rooms which are still nice if a little dated. Standard radisson blu amenities in bathroom, iron safe and tea and coffee facilities can be found in rooms and bedroom size is quite large well by Amsterdam standards anyway!
Reasonable sleep quality too on comfortable beds.
Would definitely stay again and look forward to trying out a renovated room next time.

This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in on our travels. The hotel is spotless and the staff cannot do enough for you. We stayed in the deluxe rooms which as standard have an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee and slippers. There are robes which can be requested. The bathrooms had an added touch of underfloor heating and came with all the extras you would expect these days. The beds were very comfortable with extra pillows if required. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. This hotel is ideal for someone wanting a few nights away in Amsterdam. It is ideally located and in reasonable walking distance from all the major attractions, Dam Square being approximatly 600 metres from the hotel. They will even loan you umbrellas if the weather turns bad. We only stayed one night but would definately use this hotel again and next time stay longer.
