We stayed 2 days at the SAS Radisson in Holland in mid August of 2008 and it was very nice. Clean, well appointed and terrific location. Not in the typical hotel every 5 feet area. Close to restaurants, shopping, Red Light District, etc. Very easy to get lost there, so take a map.
The staff were very helpful, check in was a breeze. We had a superior room, but don't expect it to be big - it's small by North American standards. I wonder what the standard room looked like. It had a small TV ( but seriously, folks, there was 1 channel with English with reruns of Law and Order). Everything was very clean but the decor was pretty standard. It did feature a cool module that held the TV (not flatscreen if you care), minibar, wine glasses, and an iron and ironing board. The bed was quite comfortable.
We had an interior room, which meant that our window opened up into the lobby of the hotel. That meant no fresh air. Ewww. Also, if you want to "talk loudly", you might want to rethink that and close the window unless you want the staff to hear you.
Did not eat at the restaurant, so I have no idea about that. Nor did we have room service. Would I stay there again? Not in that room, but across the street there were other rooms that I didn't even realize was part of the hotel. I would hesitate to spend tons of money just for a room that you don't spend much time in anyway.
