“Location and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

This hotel is in a great location - on a quiet street but an easy walk to both Dam Square and Rembrandtplein. We had a street-facing modern room with king-size bed. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable (the only minor gripe is the mattress wasn't flat and felt like sleeping on a slope if you got too close to the middle!) We didn't hear any noise from other rooms or outside, which was great.

The two best things about this hotel, apart from the location: The bar (set in an 18th century vicarage, right in the middle of the reception area) was a great place for an evening drink, and the beer prices were reasonable for a hotel, we particularly enjoyed the Palm draft. Secondly the staff, who were all polite and helpful, especially Peter-Paul who provided excellent customer service!

The location was great- a quiet place but only 7 minutes walking from Dam Square. Also only 20 minutes walking to the central station.
The staff were all very friendly and kind in the reception and in the breakfast area.
The room was pretty simple but was clean and big enough. The bed was wide and comfterable and the breakfast was satisfying and diverse. (Much better than other breakfasts in other hotels)
Apperently there were 2 buildings one in front of the other and both belongs to the Radisson Blu Hotel, the pictures of the building at their website are of the better looking one but the one we went to was also nice from inside.
There was a free wi-fi after entering a specific password every day.
We had a great time!

This hotel was recommend to us by a travel agent and it didn't disappoint, awesome. Our room was very different from any hotel room we've had before. Entering the room you had to go down stairs, it had a dormer window and wooden beams. Staff were accommodating and the hotel location was within walking distance to central Amsterdam attractions.

Common areas of this hotel are unimpressive to say the least, but my room was quite delightful. A business (or executive) room that included a very impressive breakfast spread downstairs, the space was split-level with an ample bedroom upstairs and a tiny shower room below. The step out of the bathroom is perilous (fell down it 4 times in 24 hours - totally sober I might add, it simply isn't an intuitive place for a step). Very nice view over Amsterdam rooftops. Great location. Friendly staff, though watch out for lines at check-out. Incident with item that was couriered at great personal expense from hotel to LA. Despite clear instructions, concierge did not use a shred of bubble wrap and item arrived in 10 pieces. This marred an otherwise excellent stay. I gather from colleagues that a better choice (not too far away) is the Pulitzer, however I would be quite happy to stay here again - provided I didn't need to courier anything breakable abroad!

Room Tip: Business/executive rooms are well worth the up-charge. Regular rooms are extremely small.

Very hard to say anything bad about this hotel. Nice staff, attractive building, good location, heated bathroom floor (this was awesome) and large enough room for me and my 10 year old.
The only thing to warn people - and this is usually not an issue for travelers - parking is expensive. I drove into Amsterdam with a friend who lives in London, UK. As a North American, I'm used to pulling up to a hotel, giving them my car keys, and saying, "please park it for me." This ain't how it works in Amsterdam, apparently. First of all, you should reserve a parking spot - like a hotel room. Secondly, it was 50 euros/day parking. Thats about double New York City!
This is my only negative feedback. The hotel was otherwise a great choice and we got a super deal on booking.com

I went on a business trip for 3 nights .
Stayed in a Superior room.
Two tween beds with mattress that were too soft.
No closet or drawers for storing your clothes.
Was relocated in another room after first night , corner room with canal view
Service was extraordinary !
Location exceptional.

Room Tip: Corner Superior room with canal view. Couples should ask for a double mattress .

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for one night on a sleepover to New York. We used the train to Amsterdam Central from where we walked the 1 km to the hotel. It is easy to reach.
We booked a Superior room that was very spacious and comfortable. Great shower with strong pressure and a comfortable kingsize bed.
Breakfast was excellent.
We will definitly stay at this hotel next time we visit Amsterdam.
