“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

I have stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel twice now. The first time, I stayed in a Standard room which had a sloping roof which made the room seem very small. More recently I stayed in a Deluxe room, which had high ceilings, a beautiful rounded window and a king size bed.

The hotel is well-situated: about a 15 minute walk from Centraal (the main train station) but in an area close to the canals and full of character. You can easily walk to most tourist destinations within Amsterdam. The check-in process is efficient and the facilities are good. The rooms are equipped with decent toiletries, a hair dryer (which is very slow but works), an in-room safe, and the other standard features.

My husband and I return to this hotel time and time again because of its location and because of the consistent standards. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room that faces onto the street. The deluxe rooms are pretty good and the one we stayed i...

The hotel is made up of two connected buildings on a small quiet street close to the red light district and city centre. Reception is in what seems to have been a courtyard behind the old buildings that now form the facade of the hotel.

It's a fairly standard business hotel, with reasonably spacious rooms. The main things that stood out to me was the amazingly comfortable bed, definitely the best hotel bed I've ever slept in.

The staff were a little too keen to sell the overpriced breakfast but there are plenty of nice cafés nearby where you can get breakfast. The hotel's restaurant was very good, with excellent service.

Room Tip: Higher up rooms will get more sunlight and less street noise.

The location of this hotel is perfect and the staff are very friendly and down to earth, which I think is important. I can't stand pretentious staff. The bar is lovely for a quiet drink before you hit the bars in Amsterdam which are within walking distance. The restaurant food is top class as was the spread put on for breakfast. The rooms are a little small and the bathrooms would benefit from an update but an overall great experience.

Good central location. Decent reception area ( a bit on the glass and mirrors side). Room was fine with great bed and bathroom. Watch out, some rooms face into the reception multi floor atrium. I didn't mind but it might bother you.

Really lovely hotel with friendly pleasent staff who had very good English. Very good location - 5 minute walk to Dam square over the canal. Train station is within walking distance which will bring you straight to the airport. Rooms were very nice and extremely clean.
Food in both the restaurant and the bar is very good. Also the breakfast is excellent - would keep you going up to dinner.

A really nice surprise, a modern hotel in the center of Amsterdam, walking distance from many attractions ( Dam square, red light district... ). Rooms were really spacious, with a Nespresso machine ( appreciated!), confortable bedding, and free wi-fi Internet that worked well.
The toletries supplies were good quality.
We enjoyed very much the breakfast buffet, with a great choice of goods, the staff was helpful and very friendly.
We will definitely come back to this hotel when we visit again Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on the canal

We spent three most enjoyable days at the Radisson Blu late November and were delighted
with our stay. Having arrived off an early morning flight the receptionist found a room that
was immediately available, a real bonus as it gave us the opportunity to make the most of
our visit. The room though shown as being 'standard' was a very pleasant surprise, with
an enormous bed, great bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. The location is very
good, enabling you to walk to any of the main attractions within 15 minutes, but nonetheless
very quiet at night. The so called continental breakfast was fit for a king with all manner of
good quality offerings, and again attentative staff. There is a very pleasant bar in the foyer,
but this does get rather busy early evening. Recommended.
