We stumbled across this hotel by chance on the internet and are very glad we did! It is located centrally within easy walking distance of all the main sights/museums and shopping/eating areas, as well as easy to get to from the airport by public transport. The building itself is beautiful from the outside, and the bedrooms, whilst not enormous, were certainly big enough for the two of us. The art deco/macintosh style interiors were very stylish.

Breakfast was included and was of an excellent standard - but my favourite part was the complimentary mini bar in the bedrooms and the complimentary hotel bar in the lobby. During the day the fully stocked bar also offered cakes and chocolates, which gave way to nuts, nachos etc in the late afternoon/evening! Very welcoming after a long day sightseeing to fall into a big armchair with a complimetary glass of wine or beer and nibbles!

The staff were helpful even calling up to the room to check we were happy following check in.

I am sorry for the previous reviewer who ended up with an unsatisfactory room, but I have to agree with the majority and say that my perception last weekend was of a friendly and welcoming place. I have a weakness for Art Nouveau and Art Deco and so I very much liked the decor of this splendid hotel-others might find it a bit "over the top". The desk and waiting staff were helpful and efficient and everything was spotlessly clean. The bedroom and bathroom were both of a good size (my room had a pleasant outlook onto the Herengracht) and the power-shower was much appreciated. I made little use of the flat screen TV, DVD/CD player or free computer access but it was nice to know that they were there.
The free bar (and free mini-bar in each room) is an excellent idea-the extortionate mini-bar prices in most hotels are a regular source of irritation-and I did not see anyone the worse for these facilities, though obviously someone with a weakness in that direction would do better to stay elsewhere. The breakfast was ample and served in an agreeable room with a relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel's location is convenient for most parts of the city centre. I think that it offers good value for money in its price range and I look forward to staying there again.

Stayed Aug 10-13. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room overlooked the canal. The staff very friendly and helpful. The free room bar and drinks in the lounge are not found elsewhere. The location was perfect, within walking distance of all major sights. I have stayed in many 5 stars and while this is not a 5 star it is certainly a 4 star.

We stayed here on the last leg of our honeymoon and all I can say is this is a great Hotel The free mini bar and the service of the staff is very good .
We only got put on to this hotel by mistake when out travel agent booked the wrong dates for us . We could only stay 2 nights here and they found us another hotel close by and arranged our baggage to be taken over there .
A very very very nice and new and flash hotel . The bathroom is exceptional and the Plasma screen that swings round to you can watch it in he Toilet just toped it off for me
Location easy walking to everywear or there are tram stops outside the door .
Beds so comfy and the Menu of pillows you can choose from depending on how you want to sleep is a great idea .
Breakfast they will cook you pretty much whatever you feel like.
