“Excelent hotel in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2009

This is a superb hotel in the center of Amsterdam. As we traveled with a 3 year old kid they were very atemptive and gave us a corner room (bigger) so that we felt confortable. The breakfast superb and the receptionist very kindly. The all inclusive concept is a must and how nice it is to return from a tour in the city late afternoon and grab a snack and drink something from the bar. Just a suggestion: Improve the room service. We asked for a cup of milk the first day we arrived and when we left 4 nights later the cup was still in the room! Nevertheless a perfect stay in a trendy and superb hotel.

even prior to getting to amsterdam I had been emailing with the staff to help set up museams, bike rentals, dinner res. they were great in getting it all done..once there it just continued.; our room overlooked the canal...small rooms but typical for a non chain hotel. very comfortable though..nice to have the comp friged in the room as well as liquer out in crystal bottles...the breakfast was great as well..after a long day of wondering the city or biking etc it was really nice to come back to a laid back happy hour with pate, cheese, meats out with wine, proseco or beer. the staff was very helpful..we can't wait to go back again....

Just back from a lovely 4 day break in amsterdam, which was made even better by our choice of hotel. We are seasoned traveller's and have stayed in most citys in europe.what made our stay in the Banks one of the best was the friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us from start to finish, however we didnt feel like they were in our face all the time. The breakfast was great and so was all the free drink and nibbles. The banks is situated over looking the beautiful gentlemans cancel in one of the nicer areas but very close to everything (we walked to most things).Everything about our stay was great i would difinitly recomened the Banks.

The comfort, style, and casual atmosphere of Banks Mansion, combined with an attentive and friendly staff, an excellent location within easy walking distance of the museums, shops, and a range of great restaurants, in addition to the extras -- free coffee, drinks, sodas, snacks and candies -- made this a first rate hotel. If you can afford it, get a suit -- the best one is on the top floor, overlooking the canal. I love Amsterdam and Banks Mansion is perfect.

After two stays at the Bank Mansion over the past 4 months, this hotel clearly ranks among the better choices for a trip to Amsterdam. The location is very central and the hotel can easily be reached by public transport (tram stop outside the door). Rooms are quiet and spacious (do ask for a room facing the back of the hotel, though), beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are gems. Frank Lloyd Wright, Macintosh or Berlage aficionados will very much feel at home - the decoration is consistent throughout the hotel (watch out for those psychedelic carpets and curtains). The overall aim to create a 'homely' feel works out very well: the large lounge with open bar is perfect for both relaxing and business talks, free drinks and snacks feel like a treat. Breakfast is varied, large and good. The hotel's quality control also showed when a billing error occurred after my first stay: they were most correct about promptly reimbursing the extra claimed sum. In all: not cheap (rock bottom price is 149 euro per night) but definitely worth every penny.

Hotel certainly met expectations, great location, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast..all you would need for a weekend break and more. The extras offered is a lovely addition to the normal, it is really nice to have had a full day out and return to the 'free' bar to enjoy a glass of wine or two and again upon returning from your evening out to enjoy a night cap! We also hired bikes for our 3 night dtay and certainly found that this was the best way of getting around Amsterdam, quickly and safely believe it or not! All in all we had a fantastic trip and should we return again to Amsterdam there would be no hesitation in booking at Banks Mansion!

It was supposed to be a very good place for business meeting and stay, but i didn't find it great enough. Banquoet hall was nothing great, service was mediocre and food was average. Overall not a very nice experience to talk about.
