Believe all of the reviews here, this is a brilliant hotel. We booked from reading the reviews here. It can look a bit more expensive than a lot of the hotels in Amsterdam but the accomodation and use of facilities is worth every penny.

The free bar was well stocked with loads of chocolate, biscuits, etc. The beer and wine was all good quality and at various times during the day extra food was put out. It was a great area to go to unwind after a busy day in amsterdam.

Breakfast was also included in the rate (we found the best deal via opodo.co.uk) which was a very good range of food and anything you needed made up to order.

In the room the free mini-bar was well stocked with chocolate and drinks, the in house movies were also included in the price. I don't think any hotel rooms in Amsterdam are particularly large but the rooms were modern, clean and very comfortable.

The location is also very good, right by the flower market and a short walk to almost all attractions. Probably a 15 minute walk from the central station or accessable on the tram routes.

If your off to Amsterdam you have to try this hotel - it is as good as every review here.

I stayed at BM this past August and I must say this was one of the best if not best hotel I have stayed at in terms of everything working right.

Everything in the rooms are in the right place and working properly.
The front desk staff is great and goes out of their way to make your stay a great one.

The free drinks in the lobby and in the room along with free snacks and chef prepared breakfast was amazing. I would stay here again any time in the area.

My Wife and I stayed here at the end of September, we drove from Calais, it took about three and a half hours and we had heavy rain on both out and return journeys. We stayed for 3 nights and the weather whilst there, was fairly good. Our room 306 was nicely furnished and a reasonable size - looking at the fire exit map 306 and 307 are the largest on the third floor. The complimentary drinks and snacks, is a nice touch and the breakfast was fine. ALL of the representatives of the hotel were really friendly and very helpful.

We took the car because we live near the Tunnel and also my wife likes to have most things packed! The Hotel recommended a Car Park no more than 2 minutes walk away - you are able to either park on the roof or the basement and access is by Lift it looked tighter that it was!!! They charged 35 Euros a day. It was very useful, just beware of the opening hours 7am - 2am during the week and after 9am on a Saturday.

Others have commented but it's worth saying - the position of the Hotel is ideal for most - we walked everywhere, with no problem. The Dutch people are some of the friendliest we've met, all the restaurants, bars, cafes, kiosks, museums etc etc were staffed by really helpful people with embarrassingly good English spoken.

Writing this makes me wish I was back!

Four of us stayed at the Banks Mansion Hotel for 3 nights. It is a clean, friendly and convenient hotel. The breakfast was included together with the drinks (that includes alcoholic drinks). The breakfast was fresh and there was a good choice to choose from. The rooms were small but big enough for a 3 night stay. The only problem in the rooms was the fact that the lighting was not very good. Although this hotel is not cheap it is worth it because of the little extras that they offer and the friendly staff. We would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. We would also recommend asking the staff where to eat as they give excellent recommendations. We only did this on our last night and they recommended Brasserie Harkema which is well worth trying as the food was excellent.

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. We booked with a few days notice so phoned the hotel direct who quoted the same prices advertised on their website. It worked out at about £130 per night for two of us sharing a delux room. We wanted something a little different to celebrate our wedding anniversary and decided on Amsterdam.

Banks Mansion stood up to all the great reviews it has received and we were not disappointed. We arrived at central station and took the tram (16,24) which took only a few minutes and stops about a two minute walk away. The room was on the top floor but there is a lift so no problems with luggage and stairs! Checking in was a doddle and very fast with the efficient and friendly staff.

The room was well equiped and included a hairdryer in the ensuit (shower) bathroom. Everything was clean and presentable and the free mini bar was very much appreciated. It included things like mineral water, canned pop, juice and some alcohol. The lounge also provided drinks that were free and this was nice to come back to in the afternoon and at the end of an evening out. Even though there are quite a few rooms in this hotel the lounge maintained a relaxed feeling and there was never more than two or three other couples using it. There are also two free computers with internet access in the lounge which was useful if you left on a whim like we did!

The location was perfect. Nothing was more than a few minutes walk and the trams are so efficient (get a day ticket, it's better value)
You can even go past the hotel on a canal trip (lovers do a very entertaining canal cruise). I would definetely go back to this hotel and reccommend it to my friends/family, and I am very picky!!
