We stayed at the Victoria on the 19th & 20th of August and thought it was very good. The hotel is about 300m from the Central Railway Station and can be seen from the Platforms. The staff were well organised and helpful, and spoke a variety of languages. The rooms were a good size, very clean and very quiet especially considering the location. The food was excellent though a little on the expensive side. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the central shops, bars, restuarants, etc. or catch a tram just outside of the hotel to the main museums. We would definitely stay here again.

Was not asked about room preference at check-in and got one stinking with old cigarettes. Happily we were offered a non-smoking room within 30 minutes after we complained. The glasses and cups we used in the room were not changed by the cleaning lady, just wiped off. The breakfast buffet was ok, but not up to the standards one should expect from a 4-star hotel. Personell was nice and service-minded, though.

Just got back from our stay at the Victoria Hotel in Amsterdam.Great location just across the road from Centraal Station and about 5 minutes walk to Dam Square.We stayed in the Hyde Park wing overlooking the station and the room was excellent and very clean.On departing the hotel the concierge even told us which train platform our train back to Schiphol airport would leave from.All the staff were very friendly and helpful.Train tickets are about 3.40 euro's each,one way.The Red Light District is about 10 minute walk and well worth a visit.My wife and i walked the district at night but felt safe as most people were having a laugh looking at the scantily clad ladies in the windows.Most of the pubs charge about 5 euro's for a large glass of beer and some charge to use the toilet,about 50 cents.We would not hesitate to visit Amsterdam again and use the Victoria Hotel.Excellent !!!

We stayed here just before Christmas, the atmosphere in Amsterdam was fantastic, very christmassy.
The hotel was prettty good. The rooms were not bad at all, a bit scuffed in places, but very clean, nice bathroom. We didn't have a good view but i'm sure there are rooms that have.
The staff were ok and the breakfast was not bad, nothing special but ok.
The pool was tiny but still nice to have a swim in, there are not many hotels that have pools in Amsterdam. The other facilities, steam, sauna you had to pay for. The changing rooms, showers were grim though, very in need of refubishing. the gym looked ok though, but we didn't use it.
The hotel is in a perfect spot, you see it as soon as you walk out of the train station.
there are lots of nice pubs, restuarants near by, and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
