had a great stay in the park plaza victoria hotel. check in and check out was speedy and hassle free. we had booked an executive room ( non smoking king bed ) with hotels.com and we got what we had asked for. our room had a sofa, chair, tv, desk and desk chair, mini bar, wardrobe with safe deposit box and bathroom downstairs. upstairs was the king bed, chair and another tv. rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. I think our room was in the older part of the hotel. we had no street noise as we were at the back of the building. breakfast was great with hot and cold food plus loads of breads and fruit. we didnt use the pool even though it was available to us as we had no time. anne frank house was money well spent and as the weather was great we were able to walk everywhere. make sure you book your tickets on line for the anne frank house and the van gogh museum as the queues were very long at both. also the hotel will book these tickets for you so that you dont have to queue. when i return to amsterdam i will most certainly stay at the victoria again as the location was also great for the train station. the ticket machine in the station was easy to use and you didnt have to queue. things you have to watch out for in amsterdam are the bicycles. they are everywere and they travel at a fast speed. i was nearly knocked down a few times so remember they just seem to have first priority on the paths and roads. all of the staff that we seen in the hotel were friendly, polite and helpfull. i would have no hesitation on recomending this hotel to all age groups.

This is a good hotel and at thelocation is excellent. Just few minutes walk from Amsterdam central and tourist hot spot of Damrak. Definitely worth the money. But the Reception / front desk staff need to be more courteous.

For someone using the TGV from Paris and in Amsterdam for a short meeting, you can't beat the location. The rooms are a little tatty, the carpets are worn, the rigid plastic shower guard in the bathroom is just plain dangerous and the breakfast buffet is just ok. It's nice to have a porter take your bags in Europe, specially at this price. I booked through agoda and got very good rates, relative to other Amsterdam hotels. Front desk staff were very helpful.
